This is exactly how the badges should look. Sure, badges are fun for authors, and if we keep the new ones for the forums I’m totally down with that!
But.. on our product pages, we want buyer’s eyes to gravitate toward the “Live Preview” and “Buy Now” buttons, not badges. Unfortunately the new badges are so “loud”, it’s the first thing you look at, and if converting sales is the ultimate goal, badges should be the last thing a customer thinks about, not the first.
Congrats FWD! You guys are coding ninjas!
We’ve seen so many great improvements over the past few years, but these badges and the new homepage redesign are big steps backward IMO.
Always fun to celebrate Envato’s birthday And considering that the 70% bump in previous years didn’t effect elites, the 100% this year is awesome!
It would be great if there were an option where authors could choose between old/new set of badges for their profile and item pages. I know this wouldn’t work for the the forums or search, but I’d really love the option to display the old badges for my personal pages.
For years I had a small television (this was back in the day when big tv’s were really expensive!) But then big tv’s became much more affordable, so I bought one, and am now so spoiled I could never watch a small tv again!
Nice visual update
One thing I’ve never understood..
Use in a free end product (more than one end user allowed)
Why does this option exist? Basically the way this is written, I can create a free WordPress theme, purchase an extended license for any plugin on CodeCanyon, and then distribute my custom theme along with the CodeCanyon product for free to the entire world.
