I submitted that theme to another marketplace and its live over there. TF is #1 marketplace and have very high quality standards. Your designs should not only be feature rich but the core here at TF is that they should be visually appealing. Improve your graphic design skills and you will be doing great.

Thank you IamHassanAli for your help and nice feedback. After making changes, I took a brave step. Deleted soft rejected item permanently and submitted it to ‘site-templates/entertainment/restaurants-cafes’ category.

Initially it was in retail category, I think I chose the wrong category first. The item is now accepted and live.

Hard lesson learned, be very careful when selecting categories

Its a WooCommerce Powered Store and Portfolio theme. I’m very disappointed, put 2 months in it and don’t know how to move forward. Please kindly share your opinion how can I improve it for resubmission.

Here is the message that I received from reviewer.

Unfortunately your submission Crunch Biz – Business & Commerce WordPress Theme isn’t quite ready for ThemeForest and requires significant improvements and changes before it can be resubmitted and reconsidered.

Additionally, we have some extra feedback for you:

Your template does not provide a unique enough design with the necessary design quality, features and options to compete in the marketplace at this time. As higher quality templates become available in the marketplace, approval requirements will increase to maintain appropriate marketplace quality.

You might consider improving your design with more unique features and graphics in order for it to stand out among other marketplace items. However, a unique design will be a key factor for approval.

I know it’s frustrating to be rejected citing uniqueness but recently, we’ve gotten a large number of template with the same overall features and presentation and we have to draw the line somewhere.

However, we do accept themes with similar structure but in condition it provides better quality in terms of aesthetic or features.

Why is no one interested in replying?

Themes for many top authors look similar to each other, just change of style (color schemes, images) etc and here you go another theme.

Why successful authors are given a soft corner in review process?

Still looking for expert opinion.

I submitted my 2nd theme and it got a soft rejection. Here is what I was told to do.

“This is a corporate / portfolio template with food photos. If you want to make it to the food category, please try to provide specific design elements, page templates and features for that category, with purpose. Make sure HTML is validated.”

2. Changed portfolio to gallery.

3. Added upcoming special offers to home page.

4. Added get directions in footer.

5. Added service timings in footer.

I resubmitted and got this reply.

“You are making surface changes. This is a resubmission of a previously rejected submission. Resubmitting without making the required changes or any improvements is not considered acceptable use of the Envato marketplaces and repeated attempts may result in a temporary or permanent suspension of authorship.”

Any ideas, what changes I should make or what new pages should be added to theme?
