If you can improve it, please do that and share with other authors here so we can all have one nice themes/templates switcher.
Hello to all. I present you just another themes/templates switcher that might be of use the TF authors and to all envato community. Just to let you know, there’s another great item switcher from our colleague author ThemeProvince (link: http://themeforest.net/forums/thread/introducing-item-switcher/42612). Btw, great job mate
Basically, it removes the TF preview frame and replaces it with this custom item switcher (dry-switcher). You can freely use it, share it, rename it, alter it, toss it… If you can improve it, please do that and share with other authors here so we can all have one nice themes/templates switcher.
When you install it (simple upload), all you need to do is to change links inside sites.xml. Also, in downloadable .zip file you’ll find .PSD with icons, dropdowns, logo, etc so you can easily restyle the switcher.
Download
Source files: http://www.sendspace.com/file/2ksm1kDemo
For a demo, please view one of my themes/templates (I cannot paste the link. It will be considered as self-promotion and I do not want that)Install
When you unzip downloaded file (dry-switcher.zip), inside dry-switcher folder you’ll find two more .zip’s.01. dry-switcher.zip (that’s actually all you’ll need) and
02. psd.zip.
All you need to do is to upload dry-switcher (01.) folder on your server. You will just have to modify this three files: index.php, main.js and sites.xml
In index.php
//If theme-switcher request is not valid, user will be redirected to this address
header('Location: http://demo.ourmodestsiteexample.com/');
In main.js
//Replace "yourdomain" with your own domain if(/themeforest\.net|yourdomain\.com$/.test(top.location.hostname))
And one more thing that you need to do is to modify sites.xml file, which is used as configuration file for the themes. You’ll find that inside sites.xml file are actually links to my items, please change that as well
And that’s it. I hope someone will find this useful.
@FinalDestiny – great topic mate
I’m actually graphic designer. I have a fulltime job as senior designer. Here on TF I started to learn web design as well (almost a year) and getting better with every theme/template
And I like it.
sry guys
one of my template as well: http://themeforest.net/item/landerous-under-construction-page/592962
It’s the same with PSD templates. You will need author permission as well.
EDIT : pebas was faster. Posted in the same time
@wickedpixel – not just the logo. All onsite images looks blurry. And its not just Apple. For example Nokia N900 (800×480; 3.5 in; 266ppi) or newer samsung phones, htc, motorola, etc…
But you can create one large 2x resolution image and then scale down by 50% in browser via CSS for all pixel density displays. You can play as well with device recognition so you can avoid bandwidth issues.
I didn’t try this yet, but I’ll certainly will. If you guys have any tips, please post here
I’m here almoast a year and I’m thankfull as well. Guys, you are doing a really great job and thanks for the opportunity to work, learn and earn.
