Hello, I need to find out how to make the blog at the footer of the template I purchased pull feed from a wordpress blog my client created themselves. How do I link the footer blog feed to their blog posts?

I posted a thread yesterday and got several rude responses. Please, if you do not have anything nice to say, do not say it at all. I am just looking for some code help. That is all.

Here is what the code in the footer is:

<div class="span-6"> <img src="images/icons/blog.png" alt="" class="footer_icon left" /> <h4>Latest from the blog</h4> <h6><a class="link" href="blog-post.html">Premium Wordpress Theme</a></h6> <p class="small">Nearly a third of all bottled drinking water purchased in the US is contaminated with bacteria.<br /><br />If you need help, please do not hesitate. Nearly a third of all bottled drinking water purchased in the US is contaminated.</p> </div>

My issue is, there is Twitter feed in the footer, and I was able to connect the client’s twitter feed to where it automatically posts on the footer. There was a .js form for the twitter feed. I do not see a .js form for the blog feed. To me it looks like the template designer just typed in their recent blog posts, instead of creating a .js file to pull the posts from the blog. I do not have the time, nor money from the client to find out every time they post on their blog and post them to the footer of every page myself…

Actually, the title should be set on the link inside the “hover_img_content” div that follow. Just saying because you have a sexy avatar, otherwise i would tell you to learn by yourself as you pretend to be a webdesigner who sells your work (actually stealing my job and abuse your client) when you can’t fix basic code :)

Well, I apologize for my avatar. Unfortunately it took my image from Facebook years ago when I first joined. I’ll make sure to change that when I get a chance just so I’m not offending anyone :impatient:

And, as for me “pretending to be a web designer”, that is not at all the case. I am definitely a designer. But in some areas of the states, especially where I live, there are more small business clients who need something quick and affordable. And when I receive an order like that, I do not design from scratch. I’d like to consider myself more of a “designer” than a “coder”. I thought there was a difference… guess not. Let’s just say I do more print design than web. Does that make everyone feel better?

1. I need to slow down the slider on the index page. I’ve used the steps in the documentation provided with the template and it is not working.
Chances are you’re not doing it right.
That template seems to be using NivoSlider, here’s the documentation of the slider js-plugin.
You’d need to edit /js/custom.js, Find:
$('#slider').nivoSlider({
        pauseTime:5000,
Change the value of “pauseTime” in milliseconds (5000 for 5 seconds).

3. On all images, when clicked on there’s a caption of “undefined”, I cannot figure out where to edit that.
<img src="images/gallery/4col-3.jpg" class="bordered_img last" title="HERE GOES MY CAPTION FOR LIGHTBOX" alt="Eye/Hand Coordination with the Marsden Ball" />

Hexahedron, thank you. I actually tried that when I first got the template and it didn’t work. I tried several times and nothing changed. I’m not sure what the difference is now, but it worked this time.

Thank you PaddyTaylor! That was a big help. I had tried that before and not sure what happened, but it didn’t work the first time. Tried it again, and now it works. Thanks again! 1 down, 2 to go :)

The code was already in the code, I just added the Eye tracking with the Wayne Saccadic Fixator

Well, I wouldn’t say beginner, that was the wrong choice of words. And you don’t have to be rude. I am just not as advanced as some, how does that sound?

I have taught myself quite a bit in html, and have figured out a lot on this template on my own, but cannot seem to figure out these 3 issues.

I have already looked into someone doing the work for me, but it seems as though everyone charges way more than I even charge a client

Hello! I’ve emailed 3 times and commented on the template’s comment threads (which have been removed apparently, because I cannot find them now???) and no response! I purchased Rise template from OrangeIdea. I am having a few issues and need them fixed asap. I am a beginner in HTML so I have tried fixing these things on my own and have been unsuccessful.

1. I need to slow down the slider on the index page. I’ve used the steps in the documentation provided with the template and it is not working. 2. I cannot figure out how to get YouTube videos to play instead of Vimeo videos in the template. 3. On all images, when clicked on there’s a caption of “undefined”, I cannot figure out where to edit that.

If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated! Either with getting me in contact with the designer, or if someone can help me themselves on these issues. Like I said, I’ve emailed them 3 times and no response. Please help! I need these issues fixed asap so my clients’ site can go live soon!

Here’s the testing link to the site

Thanks again! Emily
