Artzone’s advise is completely wrong. You can’t use other peoples images without their permission. If you do not own the copyright to an image you cannot use it.

You have three choices:
  1. Create your own.
  2. Use an online generator to create some.
  3. Ask copyright holders for permission to use their images. A good idea might be to ask local musicians as they are more accessible.

I think there is a distinction between the literal definition of “parallax” and the web design trend labelled parallax which is actually a broad term used to describe any type of layered scrolling effect.

If the background and page content are not scrolling at the same speed (even if that means the background is not scrolling at all) then it is a parallax effect. I agree it’s a quick and easy parallax, but it is parallax none the less.

What in my reply made you think I was upset? I was just asking you to clarify what your point was as it wasn’t very clear in your post.

Are you saying?

a.) All items added to the marketplace should never be removed so you will always have access to the download.

Or…

b.) All items (specifically WordPress themes) added to the marketplace should be maintained indefinitely by the author until the day they die or WordPress is discontinued.

@luxerman, can you post a few examples of the type of sites you are talking about. I know the type of business you are referring to when you say “blue collar” but I don’t know any that have particularly good sites that exist out there in the wild. I’d love a few examples.

What do the small business types that you list need in a website that a “Corporate” theme doesn’t provide?

That is a hard rejection. When an item is soft rejected the item page is created on the marketplace but is hidden to buyers and you will be given a list of specific fixes and changes you need to make.

I am a one person operation. As a rule I do not answer any support questions on weekends or public holidays unless I happen to be at my computer with a few minutes to spare. Despite this I am consistently praised for the promptness and level of support I give.

During the week and reasonable office hours I at least give a first response within 2 to 4 hours, otherwise it’s first thing the following morning.

Even if you do not have a team to help with support you absolutely must have a period where you remove yourself from work. Without it you would very quickly become jaded and burn yourself out.

When you submit a file there is an option for you to enter a link to the live preview of the item. You would create a HTML page with links to the different demos and then enter a link to that HTML page as your demo link.

All theme and template demos you see on ThemeForest are hosted by the authors themselves. Envato does not host demos for items sold on ThemeForest so you will have to arrange your own web hosting for your demo sites.
