Everything OK here too [Firefox 5]
Everything is fine there, some RAM must be left for the system. AE limited memory usage to 13 gigs, that’s cool, windows and other software use those 3 gigs You already have a 64bit CPU (i7) and Win x64. Real kick in speed comes in CS5 but just use CS4 for now.
You could also try to lower the amount of memory used by other apps. Go to Memory and Multiprocessing and drag the “RAM to leave for other applications” all the way to the left. The main slider there can either give you a longer preview or a faster render, try playing with it to see what works best. Word of warning tho: sometimes that option can cause your AE to crash
No offense, but this sounds like Mission Impossible. You would need to learn tons and tons of stuff just to get started. It’s like a college on it’s own, not to mention the hardware/software expenses. If you really want to dig into this start here: http://library.creativecow.net/tutorials/cinema4d/modeling
I like the way it looks on Macs but it’s very edgy on Win with Firefox 5
100mbit/s upload & download on the whole planet
Latest version of Firefox and: Error… (7%)
Trying FileZilla now
I have this and it really works great…http://www.amd.com/us/products/desktop/graphics/ati-radeon-hd-5000/hd-5870-eyefinity-6-edition/Pages/overview.aspx#1
If he’s on a budget, this beast will do the job, not as fast as the Quadro of course, but it works very very well.
There are driver issues because ATI and nVidia are doing their best to promote their pro series so they killed OpenGL support in the last driver batch. Now I have to use original drivers which came on the disc in order to have OpenGL in PS and AE. Expect trouble if you try to use a gaming accelerator for pro work, but the save in $$$ could be worth it.
Hope this helps a bit
Well that backward compatibility plug-in (Open Sesame) should be released soon so it won’t matter anyway

“It’s not out yet, but will be very soon.”
Anyone tried the following? Hope in a decade of time, we will have mouse with least strain: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZWLwjbJZ-s&feature=player_embedded
I love it! I tried tapping with my fingers and it’s really relaxing but it seems impractical for use with some apps, especially 3D ones
