Ive never understood why people don’t have fear to cars, when the probability is just like hundreds greater than planes. Even more, if you live in a crowded city you’ve more probabilities to being impact by a car than having a serious technical problem in your plane.
I once read that the probability of dying to the unfortunate event of a donkey kicking you in the head is much, much larger than getting involved in a planecrash ;)

Depends if you live on a ranch :)

Thing is should i wait until I’m older to “overcome” my fear. I just think it may be easier when I’m older. What do you think?

But your answer is also useful. You’re also too young to have fear. :P

I disagree. Anyone can experience fear. No matter what age. When your 6 and scared of the monster under your bed and every time you went to bed you would look under the bed to check if the monster was there. And still in the middle of the night calling your mom asking for comfort. Whether this is “true fear” it will still feel the same as fear when you’re much older.

Do the same in the airport. Listen to Sinatra… Fly me to the moon… :P

Pezflash… Love that song :)

Is this a pretty recent thing? Did you feel this bad when you flew to Africa last year, or had you overcome it / not feel as bad?

You know I felt bad then. Now I guess it’s worse. Don’t know the reason, it just feels so much worse. Might be because then I only told my parents on the day we left that I had to go anyway. Now even though it’s a slim chance I might get out of going. I know it isn’t the best thing to do. And I’ve asked so many people how to overcome this but no-one knew. Here was the last real option I had.

which bit of flying is it that you fear?

Strange thing is I’m not afraid of heights. It’s just the thought of the plane crashing in water etc. I guess knowing that the plane could malfunction and there is little you and all the other passengers with you can do about it. I’ve been on planes before. But i was so young i never even knew planes could crash. Now that I know it means that I feel this fear. Thing is I’m quite young and there is no way that my parents would ever let me take xanan. Even knowing my fear of flight.

Ask MSFX :D
Why?

I honestly think you should stand up to your fear and take it on, beat it down by doing something larger than life… go skydiving.

Honestly, the adrenaline will conquer your fear by so much :)

I guess that’s not what i wanted to hear… I know that is probably the only way of overcoming my fear but it’s so difficult to even think of being on a plane. I guess that’s what I have to do :)
