If I can’t find a good free image, I just purchase one from Photodune.
But http://albumarium.com has lots of high-quality free images (make sure to filter for “commercial license”). It’s a fairly new site and there isn’t enough content yet, so for something more specific you will need to look elsewhere, tho the image database is growing quickly.
My new thread got deleted for some reason, I assume it’s because there is already an existing one (didn’t get any notice).
Albumarium.com has just been completely redesigned and the new version is online. It’s basically a completely different site now. All images are under CC or CC0 and you can filter the non-commercial or commercial licenses – depending on your needs. Or you can just browse the site for inspiration .
I’d be happy to hear your feedback so that I can keep improving the website.
But I saw some of the template which used free image in their distributed file. (argo, plus-html, etc…). Also, what about background image. For background image placholder looks bad.
That doesn’t matter, maybe they contacted author of such image.
But there ARE some very nice images you can include even in the distributed file:
About 80 % images on Albumarium are under the http://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/ “license” (I will update the website soon, so that the license type for each image will be clearly visible)
Or – http://unsplash.com where you can do whatever you want with all of the images
@cipas Comments were in the first version, but noone was commenting anything, so I got rid of them. Maybe in the next update, because the traffic increased, I might add them again.
