Dont get discouraged by LoveThemes, he does that to every newbie on item discussion, he does not comment on work of better designers where his comments would at least make sense or help someone, he spend his time bashing newbies work, no idea why but it seems that it makes him happy.
Anyway you just need to research more ,check awwward site, dribbble and latest work that is submited on TF, combine and practice. Maybe you should do few sites for clients before moving to TF.
I think he wanted to show examples of sub menu appearing. imo, theme is better then some other themes that get accepted
How much effect does visual composer has on theme sales , do people really like it and does it have any effect?
Same question is with bootstrap themes ?
In general i like simplicity, and for my first one page wordpress theme, i am wondering shall i do it via page builder/visual composer, or custom post types and custom meta tags in some nice visual way for each section.
Something like this:http://themeforest.net/category/cms-themes/joomla?utf8=%E2%9C%93&order=asc&sort_by=sortable_at&categories=cms-themes%2Fjoomla
just search for old template, there should be some for wordpress also.
Thats pretty basic theme with old design. You wont find anything similar here, so you would probably need to custom code it. You can use some twenty theme as basic start, but fully custom theme would probably be faster. And it also reminds me of joomla styled website.
You need to ask them what theme they are using and what plugins they are using, then you setup that on your server and get the same error.
Or tell them to switch to default twenty twelve theme and ask them if problem still persist, if it does then its some other plugin conflicting with yours. If its not, then its theme specific.
In the end, ask them for login and try it yourself.
- Spacing, font is to small and almost hitting edges somewhere - Get rid of gray gradient, generally that part with laptop and gray background does not look good at all. I would totally redesign it. - Again background at the bottom, brown and gray gradient, just doesnt look good at all, you should probably reconsider new colors. Doesnt need to be flat, but just doesnt seem right. - Contact form shows to late - font size
maybe those should be good way to start
I agree with Charlie. If you can design themes for TF, start with html versions, and then you can slowly work on WP yourself.
I agree with CloudEight, thats why I also created mine, but as that was like 2 years ago, seems like i need to update it, so i was wondering shall i go that route or with bootstrap, but using bootstrap, how do you adjust every bit of design ?
