I think all non-logged-in potential buyers should be free to browse until then decide to buy.

Thank you Flasher – like you I never saw this. I think it should be highlighted more so authors can respond more quickly (and it should be made more clear that buyers should PM for assistance with projects, rather than post a comment).
Email alerts to authors when someone posts a comment on their item. It will improve buyer satisfaction / propensity to buy more.
Or, offer buyers a ‘Help’ link which sends an email to an author.
+1 (‘cept I suggested this last week to support and party line seems to be it could turn into spam). I was coming from the pov of offering buyers assistance (eg with AE project files), if it was needed.
$50k is cheap for that kind of thing.
How about: the site seems slow after Tuesday’s downtime?
