Yes I wear glasses, I got them before I started doing motion design.
I look at the screen for around 5 – 6 hours per day.
My vision has gotten worse since I began with design 4 or 5 years ago, but it’s hard to say if my vision’s decline is due to the screen. I’m probably a lot younger (19) than most of you so my eyes are still naturally changing I guess.
I can’t stand staring into the screen for more than 3 hours at a time, so I usually take a good sized break every two hours at least. I think I heard about the 20 – 20 – 20 rule on this thread actually, but for those who didn’t see it – whilst your designing or whatever, look at something that’s 20ft away from you, for 20 seconds, every 20 minutes. This exercise gives both your mind and your eyes to relax.
I was always very impressed with your icons, I think they look great! Simple, clean and eye catching.
Looks pretty decent! I asked, because I’m using a Corsair from the air series, I’m very pleased with it, but I haven’t got any experience with a liquid one.
Yeah I would definitely recommend their liquid coolers. They’re very quiet, they get the job done and they look super cool!
So I didn’t do an official test, but I was rendering a pretty long particular sequence which was using 50% of my CPU and the temps ranged from around 45 to 50 degrees C. When the CPU isn’t being used that much temperatures are around 30 degrees C.
60% higher sales than average so far. Whoo! Hopefully all of your sales will pick up!
Really great setup for a very low price!
I’m looking for HP Z600 with the following specs :
What do you think ?
- Processor :Biproc Xeon E5540 quadricore 16 cores, 16mo in cache 2,53ghz turbo boost 2.8ghz;
- RAM : 32Gb DDR3 ECC.
- Graphic Card : Nvidia quadro 6000 or Nvidea GTX 670
Thanks! Looks good! The only thing I would change is your graphics card. That 670 is pretty old and the Quadro is insanely overpriced in my opinion. Yeah it’s built for business related uses but that doesn’t mean a GTX can’t do what the Quadro can.
And if wanted to choose between the two, I would just go with the 970 because it’s a much better value and if it’s too slow for you, (unlikely) you can always buy another one and enable SLI – dual GPU’s.
Whoa, that’s pretty sweet! Where’d you get that Envato sticker? I’ll be upgrading mine as well, I’m in dire need of it. Currently running on Intel Q9550 Core 2 Quad, 250GB HDD 6GB DDR2 memory @ 800Mhz, EVGA GeForce 9600 GT.
Thanks! I ordered a shirt from Envato Supply a month or two ago and it came with a sticker! I think it was a very limited time offer; they aren’t selling shirts at the moment.
Yeah my old comp had specs similar to that, it feels amazing to make such a huge upgrade. You should buy yourself an early Christmas present
That’s a bummer. The Videohive community has become so unimaginative – half the newly approved files are “124 Simple Titles” or “Minimal Slideshow” everything’s all the same now. And this seems to be a problem because authors have found that copying successful files is easier than being creative. It used to be just a small number of authors who did that, now it’s much more than a few.
It all boils down to the money, what’s the point of making a unique file if it’s not going to sell well. That statement doesn’t justify copying, but it explains the mindset that authors are stuck in these days.
