So I submitted the DMCA Notice almost 48 hours ago and I haven’t heard anything from Envato, nor have they taken down the theme. I’m just wondering if this is a normal time to wait – does anyone know? I was thinking it was supposed to be within 24 hours but I don’t remember where I read that…
Considering this user contacted me prior to releasing their theme telling me they had used my theme framework to make their theme, that they were aware I owned the copyright for it, and asking me if they could release it, and I did not give them permission, I would say, yes, it’s a pretty blatant, intentional copy.
I’ll let Support know. Thanks!
Thanks! For anyone else who comes across this, support responded to me and told me the exact same thing @ThemeFusion told me: issue a takedown notice. Here’s a helpful article on it: http://support.envato.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/114.
But the user is a fellow ThemeForest author, do I really still need to do this?
Hey guys, I’m the author of this theme. Please use my support center for support requests: industrialthemes.ticksy.com
Come on Envato support. A user is literally stealing money from me right now. He has sold 45 themes that are infringing directly on my copyright. I put in a support ticket a week ago but I haven’t heard so much as a peep from you:
Ticket ID: MUW-168-37409
I don’t want to call out the user publicly but this is getting ridiculous. I really don’t want to do the math on how much money this user has already made from me because I’m afraid of knowing the number…
PLEASE RESPOND TO MY TICKET AT LEAST!!!!!!
Absolutely loved it. Best movie I saw in 2012 for sure.
Even though Paypal functionality was restored I have noticed pretty much 0 sales today which does not match my sales trends over the past several years (it’s never happened in fact). Just curious if that’s due to the Paypal issue, or some strange coincidence? Any other authors seeing a huge drop in sales today?
Thanks But now, I’m working on another design much more trendy. So, if someone copy this design… no problem I think that isn’t as good as the current that I’m working.
I might be wrong anyway – maybe they would have to take it down. Just thought it was worth noting. Good luck with your designs and future sales!
I definitely like that it’s unique and not just another copycat theme. Needs work though. For instance, every character on the homepage is uppercase. That’s a little overkill. I would go uppercase only for headers and maybe featured slider, but having everything uppercase causes nothing to stand out and your design to just look too busy. Don’t give up!
