Yeah but Lady Gaga sells a lot. It may seems “forced” by the music industry to listen to her, but I think this was only at the beginning. Now she’s a worlwide famous POP artist, and people listen to her because they like her. And she makes her label able to earn some big money. So the thing that makes me doubtful is: why graphicriver spots a (honestly) not-very-great illustration of a vampire with that is (honestly) not-very-useful?
There are two kinds of artists. Artists creating ONLY for money, and artist creating for both money and passion. I don’t think you understand what I’m trying to say. In this case the vampire illustration is Lady Gaga, so non me ne frega un cazzo what they feature here or elsewhere in the world… We have the choice on how we make our money, doing quality or doing crap. Why do they feature not-very-great items? Easy, because most of the people on this planet love not-very-great items because they think that those not-very-great items are great.

i don’t think people loved that “not-very-great” item, no sales yet :smug:

this is quickly features not weekly

This sums it up, the last couple of features seem like they must have taken about 2 minutes to choose them.

I thought that features were supposed to show some of the most impressive work from around the site, often from emerging or less popular categories.

I suppose this is not how they do it now :/

I’ve seen some ads in various sites including Official Psds and i also saw a facebook ad about a codecanyon item, so i was thinking of giving one myself :)

It may work but is risky and you can spend the hard earned money for nothing. It’s like a lotery.

Isn’t this what you’ve seen? http://codecanyon.net/forums/thread/promoting-codecanyon-items-with-banner-ads/98574#806444

no not talking about this… This is just a feature type thing where envato will give banners in their sites weekly about authors…

I saw a codecanyon item ad here:

and at the bottom found flyer ad here at official PSDs

Well i was thinking about if i could drive people out to my Facebook Page, it would be more useful because they can get updated about my new items and such :)

its a hard decision to take because both will affect our sales and not doing anything will effect the total of what we earn :impatient:

I have no idea who’s doing the selections, but oh my god… They should pay more attention, there are real artists around here that deserve more. The real art is never featured, but as we all know the cheaper you are the better. Sing crap like Lady Gaga and they will kiss you ass. Stop wanting to be Lady Gaga and get featured, and concentrate on creating amazing and unique items. Cheers.

ahh not much of a lady gaga fan but don’t people call her amazing and unique? :D

he has a point, but the answers to these questions were spread out all over the authoring basics and the knowledge base, it took me a day to read all of that and find out the answers before i could pass…
But giving the info on the page just like that, people might even skip it, it contains what might happen if someone uses someone else’s resources which new authors might not know and may fall in trouble, you guys should think of a way to make everyone read it ;)
