Reviving this thread since the MBA was slightly upgraded today.
I have an early 2012 MBP 13” but I really need
WANT a MacBook Air for its portability, speed, etc. I don’t have plans to sell/give my MBP because it’s a great machine but I’m struggling with the fact that 11” may be too small AND another 13” may be overkill.
What do you guys think?
This is interesting.
Ivor I think your point makes perfect sense. If it doesn’t look good in the hosted demo there is no way a normal user will make it look good / even buy the theme so no point going further.
But my question would be if you do go further (because the demo looks good) is this probably a soft reject in case it does get rejected further on? I’m not saying a perfectly well designed theme can not be hard rejected but I guess it does not happen too often right?
For us authors especially because of the separation of development and design it’s a great advantage to know if the issue is Design or Technical (I know most of the times it’s design but still).Best regards
It’s very rare a hard rejection that involves code, HRs are usually due to design issues. When an item is perfectly designed (as you mentioned) but poorly coded we list all the issues for you to fix it.
Actually I think it’s different:
- first they see your screenshots if any, so if the screenshots look nice, continue the review
- second they see the demo, again if it looks and feels nice, continue
- thirdly they check your documentation and attempt to install / use your files
If all quality and aesthetic requirements are met, then they will approve or reject, and provide solid arguments in case of rejection.Good luck.
When I receive a file the first thing I do is to check the hosted demo, then I check the attributes, title, etc whilst I download the file. After checking the main files and code I check the screenshot(s) and make sure the format/image size is set correctly then proceed to approve.
