Have to check Fireworks out, I’ve heard great things about it but haven’t tried it even once.
I’m using Photoshop now but I read about something interesting a couple of days ago – Adobe InDesign. http://www.adobe.com/bg/products/indesign.html
Sounds like it has some pretty cool features like some layout exchange, liquid layouts, linked content (I had to change the font size on 28 different layers and it wasn’t exactly a laugh) and some other UI specific goodies.
Don’t know if I’m gonna try it but I think it’s interesting to mention it at least.
Thanks for accepting my template so quickly, Josh. Rated the collection, I must say there are some really talented authors out there. Good luck, everyone!
P.S: Can I see all of the collections somehow excluding the home page rotation?
Bootstrap means Responsive right???
It’s not necessary. Bootstrap provides you with a grid and you may make it responsive if you wish (I should add it’s very good, especially the feature where it automatically becomes fluid below a given screen width). I’m not sure about the terms of the competition, though.
Let me give you an advice – it’s relatively easy to make your theme responsive with Bootstrap (from the technical point of view, it still needs careful planning) – so do it! Adding responsive features will totally increase your sales and that’s what most the customers want these days. As I’ve read in a blog article – we can’t blame anything anymore, it’s time to think mobile.
I’ll try finishing my theme in time. Most Wanted is attempting!
Too high contrast on the design.
Thank you for your reply. I will think how it can be changed although I’ve seen that effect on many websites trying to get that magazine-feel look.
Anyway, I was talking about a submitting strategy in general – is it good trying for the PSD section before you start coding or the bar is too high there and you will end up confused.
I’m a new author ( still improving my first theme, I hope it gets approved soon ) and I really need your help. As I said I am still improving my first theme and I really almost did start over. It was because of the design – it was “not unique enough”. I’m OK with that as I’m growing as a designer but I want to spare some time coding. Rewriting stylesheets is time-consuming and when not enough feedback is provided by the reviewer it gets a bit discouraging.
So I decided to post my designs here on the forum first to get feedback from somebody more experienced than me but that didn’t work out quite well ( http://themeforest.net/forums/thread/feedback-needed-before-submitting-for-a-review/63889 ). So I am thinking now – submitting the design in the PSD category.
And here comes my question – I will get the feedback from the reviewer but I know that the criteria in the PSD category is a bit different and it is harder to get there. So do you think I can improve the design at this point and do less coding later or that is just going to confuse me.
You can share your strategies from your newbie period as well.
Any advice would be highly appreciated, J.
Hi guys, I’m developing a HTML site template – fashion/clothing e-commerce template (probably I’m gonna upgrade to a magento theme). Anyway, I’m a new author and I’m still editing my first theme which is not accepted yet, I needed a total redesign.
So, I want some feedback from you please, as I’m still on a design phase with this one. I want the feedback now (because you probably have some experience and you know better than me the way reviewers see things) so I don’t rewrite all my code, stylesheets especially.http://jgrozdanovlivedemos.co.cc/temp/1.000l.jpg
That’s in a 960 grid, it is gonna be centered in the browser window. The categories around the “check out our bestsellers” are going to expand on hover to the full width of the men/women tab (that’s why they are a bit assymetric right now, thought it’d be a good effect).
Thank you guys in advance, any feedback would be highly appreciated as I’m stuck with my previous theme and totally discouraged.
P.S: Nevermind the name, it’s just a temporary one, for fun.
It is going to be a coded website.
Yes, the link might be empty because it is on a new hosting and it might take some time.
Thank you, I think I got lost in that web 2.0 virus everybody’s been talking about.
I guess I have to face a full re-design (silly me).
