Awesome stuff Jords!
Hey if we sign up for this and choose “Only our items” are we still displayed in the WordPress Installation category? Or will we be “private” and only available via the purchase flow from ThemeForest?
Is there a vacation/holiday feature as well so we can pass on installation requests to someone else when we’re unavailable?
And thirdly – is there any magic you can do to show installation requests in our google analytics reports? Another tracking event or something – so we can see the percentage of buyers who go through with install requets (this number will help us gauge what we’re getting into in terms of how many install requests to expect).
Thanks for the update!
Hey Dave! Good questions.
1) If you have a WordPress installation service you’ve created yourself directly on Studio, that will still be available on the explore pages. If you don’t have your own install service, or you’ve paused it then you won’t be included in the explore listings and you’ll only receive Express orders.
2) When on vacation you can ‘pause’ your involvement in Express jobs. You can do this from the Your Services page (in the same area you choose whether you want to receive work for others items). You can unpause at any time. – also here’s a secret bit of info for y’all, we’re working on a feature now that lets you set working hours (so you’ll only receive Express jobs during those hours) – since it’s not built yet don’t quote me on anything though, there may be unforeseen issues but it’s something we want to introduce.
3) I’m not sure, is this part of the analytics that Market provides authors? Sounds like it could be cool!
I thought you might be interested to know about a new community initiative we’re running over at Envato Studio called ‘Community Challenges’. We’ve launched an app on Studio that allows the community to participate in design challenges which we set. Participants create a design for the brief and then upload it to the challenge app, along with a description of their design. People can then view the participant’s entry, like it and leave comments. At the end of the challenge we choose a winner. The winner will generally receive some prizes as well as promotion through our channels.
Our first challenge is to design the new Studio provider t-shirt. The prize up for grabs is $250 cash, an Envato carepack as well as promotion on Studio’s channels! We will be printing the winning design on a run of t-shirts at the end of this month.
Interested in taking part?
It’s easy. Visit the challenge page on Studio, read the brief and create your entry. Once you’re ready to submit sign into Studio and publish your entry!
Hurry! You have less than 7 days left to be involved!
That’s right, our first challenge will be finished in less than a week. Hope to see you taking part!
but why i can’t add more services for approval. Here’s the link of my service https://studio.envato.com/explore/wordpress-installation/9564-wordpress-theme-installation-demo-setup#more-examples
Hey hudixt! I just checked your account and it looks like your first service is still pending review. Until then your first service passes review you won’t be able to create any more. Good luck with the review! It may take another week or so before the team gets to it. If you’re approved, you’ll be able to create new services in the same parent category instantly.
Does every service require an approval? Because I uploaded a service and it worked.fine right away.
No, if you have submitted a service to a parent category in the past which was approved by our team – any subsequent services are auto-approved and then checked for quality down the line. If you haven’t had an approved service in a category before then it needs to be reviewed by our team – can take up to two weeks.
