Thanks for the feedback guys :)

Like we’ve said in the past, the platform fee is used to support the service – which includes user support, provider marketing and maintaining tip-top infrastructure. It also gives us the ability to continue innovating the product and growing the value we offer users. While it’s true there are other services that have a lower fee, it’s not necessarily an apples for apples comparison (sites like Freelancer or Elance use a different business model – bidding for jobs etc). We have no hidden costs like: the buyer paying to post a project, the provider needing to pay any subscription, the provider needing to pay more to be higher in listings, the buyer paying more to get the work faster. We also review all providers to ensure Microlancer is a quality marketplace, where you can find buyers willing to pay extra for that quality – rather than a free-for-all where quality is not important, or where you as a freelancer do work without even being sure you’ll get a cent for it! This approach costs more to maintain than some other models.

That said, we appreciate your opinion and feedback on this, and are always considering how we can deliver more value for our providers. So keep it coming! :D You’re always welcome to email me directly with any thoughts too (jordan@envato.com) :)

I think this is the only platform where I should wait for 2 months to be paid

We hear ya! That’s been one of the biggest pieces of feedback we’ve gotten since launching. The reason the cycle is long is to catch fraudulent activity, which when it happens ends up hurting everyone on the site. Good news is, we’re working on a way to reduce the payout cycle for trusted providers. Nothing to announce yet, but watch this space for more info. :D

We’re keeping a tally of all the votes for new features/categories and I’ve added yours to the total! :)

I think our next big category launch will be video (but I could be wrong)! In any case, it’s on the roadmap (hehehe, in the pipeline :P) but there’s a lot of supporting work we need to do to support different types of media, like video etc. Please keep the feedback and ideas going! :)

1. How can i delete one of my services from microlancer?

2. There is a guy on microlancer who customized one of the Designs i have on sale on graphicriver. He just changed the colors and the text. He is providing a design service using some of my files from graphicriver with very small changes. Is it ok? or can i send an DMCA notice?

I’m planning on providing the same service than him and i don’t like to compete with a guy who is using my own designs againts me.

Thank you

Hola cooledition! Thanks for your questions, I know you’ve sent us tickets about this too, but I’ll give some brief answers here!

1) To remove a service from Microlancer, just log in to your account and ‘pause’ that service. This will remove it from Microlancer listings and it is effectively permanently disabled (unless you unpause it). In cases where you want it wiped from the face of the planet, just shoot us a support request. :)

2) Dylanfar’s answer is pretty spot on, without knowing all the details – using a GR item like that on Microlancer sounds like a breach of the terms it was licensed under when bought from GR. Definitely let support know if this happens.

Hope this helps :)

Feel free to get involved Colorbyt, but you might have to use some magical hair growth tonic! The others already have 11 days on you. :) Good luck! Also, there have been a few questions about chest hair counting towards movember, I’m willing to make an exception if your chest hair is so long that reaches your top lip! Otherwise, regular ol’ chest hair wont make the cut. I apologise for those with naturally hairy winter coats!

I want to post this somewhere without any context. :D

Is there any referal program on microlancer like on envato stock markets?

Not now, but it’s pretty much certain we’ll get one. In fact, our marketing manager is doing affiliate program research now! :D

Howdy peeps,

A bit off-topic, but we don’t have a forum on Microlancer (and around 60% of our service providers are Marketplace authors) so hopefully not too off-topic :)

I wanted to let you all know we’ve launched a Microlancer blog – http://blog.microlancer.com and are posting a lot on it. We’re giving lots of tips for Microlancer providers, doing interviews with staff, providers and top buyers. As well as doing more general posts on web design and dev.

One of our posts (which is currently on the front page of Hacker News) that you might find interesting is ‘Is Modern Web Design Too Formulaic?.

Just wanted to share in case any of you are interested! :)
