Not sure how it works currently, but if a buyer purchases a job and there is no response from service provider for certain amount of days, it supposed to impact on reputation in an automated manner. And a cancellation email supposed to reach buyers in predefined manner. There is no point in asking buyers to manually report about a thing which can be already measured by the system itself. Tough situation though for everyone involved.

Is there something we can do about Buyers who inquire but don’t respond to the Seller’s reply as we had the following experience. :)

From our experience, we once sent replies to 6 to 8 prospective buyers who sent us the project details with pre sale questions. Each reply takes time as we need to understand the project details and reply with proposal on price, time, details etc etc. Not even 1 replied back. We understand it can be due to any reason such as the Buyer found another service, Buyer lost interest in the project, Buyer didn’t get the work from another person etc etc. In the same context a Seller may also not reply due to a lot of reasons.

These things do happen and though it might be frustrating, it is inevitable. :)

Hope Envato does things that are fair to both Buyers and Sellers.

Absolutely – totally understand how that is frustrating for sellers on Studio. We are talking in the team about how we can introduce ‘trust’ metrics for buyers as well as providers. Eg: giving them a responsiveness score, or displaying their purchase/enquiry ratio to providers they’re engaging with, or even just a purchase count (just using these examples, I’m not sure we’d actually use those metrics). That should help inform providers about who they’re dealing with.

We’ve got to be careful to not discourage buyers from using the site though! But it’s definitely a two-way relationship :D

Hey LeBrIt, I’m Jords and I’m the comms manager for Studio. Super appreciative of your feedback, and I’m really sorry to hear about your experience :(. While it’s not typical (especially if you contacted 3 people) it can happen… But that doesn’t make it ok and we’ve got a lot of work lined up to help address unresponsive providers. We understand the frustration completely.

We expect Envato Studio service providers to be responsive to buyer enquiries and jobs and if they’re not available because they’re on holiday or whatever the reason, then we expect them to pause their services to avoid making people wait. Our ops team is currently identifying and speaking to providers who aren’t playing by the rules in terms of responsiveness – and we’ve got a whole lot of new features lined up for product to speed up communication and signals around responsiveness on the actual site. :)

lololol. We all found it so funny when we saw the video. Adam Everett Miller made it and sent it around and we were lolfest 2010 in the office. :D

Yeah the venue is awesome. Really colourful and creative. Plus they have a kitchen there and made awesome Caribbean food for us. What more do you want?
