Awesome, nice addition to GraphicRiver!
Once again a flaw has been pointed out in the whole issue of selling logos as stock. But as with all the other objections, I’m sure it will fall on deaf ears. More complicated logos should definitely be priced higher.
Would have to agree with you 1981. Hardly seems fair they expect new logos to conform to certain standards when they’ve already flooded the category with less than par examples.
I just got CS5 so I won’t be updating any time soon even if CS6 comes out tomorrow!
Awesome… Happy Birthday Envato!
Awesome, can’t wait for this great new addition!
Looks like a nice addition to the Envato empire!

Jordan_M saidSo this thread is about the launch of a category and a competition, but we’re only allowed to talk about the latter otherwise it’s ‘offtopic’? Nice. No one has forgotten that we’re a stock site, logos aren’t stock. Ever.
Hey everyone, don’t forget we’re a stock site!!This thread is about the launch of a category and a competition. Your feedback is valued but let’s stay on topic please or I’ll lock the thread. Stick to competition discussion please.

A point I was going to make @Philmo, but didn’t want to be the only “bad guy” who noticed the inconsistencies with this statement! Seems to me Envato is not really interested in our feedback and would rather steer the attention away from our objections to logo sales. Hence a logo contest to begin with. I agree, logos aren’t and should never be considered stock!
I think some of you are being blinded about the possibility of quick money. You need to think bigger picture and more long-term than that. Stop to think about the implications of this move by Envato before you express your support.
At first I was excited to read this headline and then very much disappointed to learn that Envato planned to sell logos with the same stock mentality of other files. I figured the only acceptable way they would suggest selling logos was on a single-sale basis with a starting price of at least $250-$300. It’s crazy to do so otherwise.
What’s even more disturbing is that Staff seems oblivious to our obvious objections, designers and sellers who have helped make the Envato Marketplaces what they are today. @LanceSnider claiming that logos are no different from other stock elements and exclaiming how excited he is that members are excited about this logo idea! Come on, 9 out of 10 comments in this thread are saying exactly opposite of that! We are NOT HAPPY and NOT EXCITED about it and it seems that many of us will seriously reconsider supporting Envato in practices that devalue the design industry as a whole. Is this 99Designs or what? Maybe Envato should open up a whole category for spec work as well!
Definitely a -1 on my end!
Happy Birthday to all the fellow Leos. August 14th here!
