Hello! If you look at the change log on that item’s page, it only shows version 1.4. as the last updated version. I have a feeling they may have jumped the gun on their WordPress update message
I think your best best is to click on that item’s support tab and contact the author directly. They may be able to shed some light on your troubles. Thanks!
