Thanks guys, you’re awesome!
So… I got myself a shiny new silver paw!
As a multi marketplaces author from: Animation, Motion Graphics, Music & Sound Effects it’s a really nice milestone and a good reason for me to smile.
Thank you Envato for being an amazing community for so many years!
I’m with PayPal since 2006 and never had any issue with them before.
The “horror” stories I heard from people are scary indeed! and hopefully it won’t happen to me or to anybody of you guys, and if it is for a good security or other reason that could be solved in less than 24 hours and not… months.
I’m wondering if your PayPal account type & status are:
Account Type: Business | Status: Verified
Maybe that’s why some of us don’t have that problem, or maybe it’s nothing to do with it I have no idea… but this thread could help other Envato members in the future.
It will be very appreciate if you will update this thread with what happened and hopefully that you will get your money fast.
- Sorry about my bad English
Dear Envato community,
Some of you already know me and my INSANE CARTOONS, But this time me and my friends Damian & Kyle produced a parody video which combine frame-by-frame animation and real-live footage into one insane video.
PLEASE NOTICE: The content of this video is crude and full of nonsense.
You don’t have to watch it, but if you don’t care I would highly recommend you to watch it.

Sorry about my bad English, and have a wonderful weekend everybody!
This is an old discussion i guess. Vh has its own criteria on how the market should go. I can agree with you with some ideas you bring us, but finally this is their business and they manage it as they want. We can not agree with them but is like that. I also can´t understand how VH can lose sales for rejected files that can sell very well only for the reason that the market has enough of some kind of files. I ve seen how some rejected files in vh are selling very very well outside vh, even with 3x price. i ve had rejected files that wasn’t good enough and I’ve learn a lot from reviewers. Their work is very very hard. Maybe we should ask for a second opportunity when you have a rejected file. Maybe there are some projects that will be approved with a good defense as you describe above. About all my best opinion about reviewers work, they keep the site in the top!
Yes, I agree with what you’re saying. I think it’s kind of sad that they don’t think “out-of-the-box” in some parts and works like a robot with specific rules behind their policy in most cases.
But yes, this is their business, their decision we can’t really change that and that’s fine.
I guess I will have to work with other markets in some cases for my special items. Anyway I wish good luck to everybody, I still love and respect Envato this case just made me open my eyes but nothing changed about my love to this amazing community, Much love and have a wonderful weekend everybody
- Sorry about my bad English.
I must mention first, that what you are about to read is not written in bad mood but just a disappointed that made me actually write this after not getting a “real answer” from the support team. I apologise ahead about my bad English.
Also, This is NOT a complaint about one single reject who I can just say “oh well.. better next time” been there, done that… it’s more about the future of VideoHive and their decisions that may still be fixed and change for the better.
The main reason I decided to share my experience with the community is only because I care for both Envato’s future and the community users and authors, Can’t lie… I LOVE Envato!
So, for those who already know me I produce original frame-by-frame animated content in our studio especially for videohive items since 2009.
How do I come up with new item ideas?
I never just animate something that is useless for others, it’s hard enough to animate a frame-by-frame smooth animation anyway, so for no purpose… bad idea! (don’t do that hehe)
Usually I’m getting lots and lots of emails with requests from people via my email and from my YouTube channel (about 20,000 subscribers at the moment) and they keep asking me: where do I get your music? where do I get this animated effect you used in this video or that video? Guess where I address them? exactly! my profile.
So far so good, this is NOT THE FIRST TIME that I got rejects during the time I’m here, but in some cases the rejects doesn’t make any sense, especially for the last item I’ve sent.
I won’t be specific about the item because I don’t want to break any rules, but let me try to explain the situation:
There is a specific kind of items in my videohive profile that sales every month, means one thing: people need it, people purchase it!
What I did was, I took one of these items, re-produce the idea of it (so it’s not just the same thing) made it better, higher-quality, smoother animation, plus more variations for the users to choose from compare to an old version that already sales nicely. Again, if it sales well and people are asking for more… it will be a smart move to supply what the buyers are asking for, right?
Not only that I just “say” it is high quality, this item actually used on a new video we’ve produced for YouTube which currently about 60,000 views in less than 24 hours! (since the upload)
I’ve produced a bunch of animated effects in that video which I planed to add to my VH profile for all these requests I’m getting via emails. that way people can actually see how it used on a production produce in our studio that works for T.V. networks and YouTube as well. It took a long time to produce each element because I made sure it’s on the best quality and very useful for anybody who will grab it.
You can watch the video here: ” WATCH THE VIDEO “ – Please NOTICE: The content is silly and crude, watch it only if you like nonsense. also the compression of YouTube makes a lower quality than the original source.
After 6 days of waiting in que (not complaining) this item got reject for it’s quality…
it seems like the reviewer decided it’s not good enough for VH. notice that I mentioned that the same “older version” still sales well but the new version one have better quality and it’s different (I won’t sell the same item, there is no point) it’s a new version with more variations which is pretty much a very big upgrade with a different look as I said and of course higher quality (rendered in maximum quality ready for any production goal).
This is not the first time that it happens to me and I have a feeling to other talented creative authors in VH, and the reason for “not high quality enough for VH” is not satisfying me because it’s a really shallow decision with no real judgement and interest for the good of either the market or the buyers who need such item. it’s have no real base, people are still buying the old version, they ask for more in so I produced that “MORE” and VH won’t approve it.
I did open a ticket, and I must mention I got a reply VERY FAST, that’s a really great thing about the envato support team and I admire you guys for this!
but again… with all the respect I didn’t get a real answer or at least a really good reason, just an answer that cannot guaranty a response from the VH reviewers… means my “objection” will be send to the review of VH again, which won’t really help me because we all know that if a reviewer decide that he/she don’t like your item… the item suck? work harder! and stuff like that which are true in some cases… maybe if you’re new to VH and don’t know what they are looking for at all! but I guess I do have a clue, it’s just getting harder and harder to impossible every year… I can’t even explain the frustrating, and no… it doesn’t make any sense, it’s always a lost to all sides… but what do I know right?
Not saying that I’m the best! because I’m NOT! but what I do in my daily job at the studio is to produce original content in THE SAME QUALITY for T.V. Networks such as MTV, Cartoon Central, Local Channels, Internet and more… I always bring the highest quality that approved by T.V. Networks since 2006 never less quality.
If you like me are working with T.V. for many years you’re already familiar with the high quality demands every network have, for those who don’t know: I guaranty to you that it is MUCH MORE than what VH are asking for that’s why I supply the best quality always ready for T.V. networks and higher broadcasting platforms.
So how come the quality is not good enough for VH? which is funny because the older version’s quality still sales… and the NEW rejected VERSION is not good enough? weird indeed!
I guess I’m not good enough for VH new requirements which getting extremely weird every single year for no good reason (more new authors doesn’t mean you need to get more rejects). This is the main reason why I rarely produce new items for VH, I’m very disappointed not because of the reject… don’t get me wrong, Reject may happen to everybody and we learn from it. but UNNECESSARY Rejects only show me how “robotic” a reviewer can be because they look at your review for few seconds and didn’t even know what HIGH QUALITY is, or if it’s already demand by users because it’s already sales…
I won’t lie to you, this last reject totally discourage me to continue produce original items for VH.
not because of the rejection itself, because of the bad judgement which will happen again and again for any item I will produce, and I produced some for a few years now… I know how it works, so why bother with that same review-attitude.?
Who knows… I may try my luck again in the future, but too bad the situation is not encourage me and others to produce more and more original useful high quality content.
I guess I’ll leave some space for better VH authors than me and keep my original content on other places. I know how awesome VH Authors we have around here so it’s not that you’re loosing a special author like myself, just think that people need to share their experience from so many years and the changes that happens to the Envato system… which is being crucial for the bad and not for the good.
Sorry for my bad English and for the long post.
I wish you all the best luck and keep up the good working.
So far the slowest month for me…
