Love these video’s! Thanks for announcing some exciting new updates, can’t wait to see them come into fruition.
Went to see this film last night in 3D and i just wanted to say to everyone that had a negative experience with 3D movies like myself that this movie will blow your freaking mind.
It’s the first time where i found the stereoscopic effect to be effective and not a distraction from the movie itself. It was so effective that i felt like i was being pulled from my seat and actually flew with the actors in space.
The camera is the real actor in this film, if you have read a review here and there you might have heard about it. Just wanted to confirm the fact it really is.
So yeah, you might be thinking god – another hype blahdieblah. Just let me say this. I have seen hundreds upon hundreds of movies and never before was i so convinced of the VFX then what was going on in the film, never before was i doubting on how they achieved certain shots unlike other films where i always had a clue on how they did some shots. Gravity however doesn’t give it away, it is so realistic and well made you actually start to believe they shot some of this stuff in actual space.
The VFX is masterful, the camerawork is mind boggling, Sandra plays her character amazingly well and the score that underlies all this is absolutely amazing.
In short, amazing film go see it. IN 3D!
It was great until the weekend started, slowed down allot since Saturday for me.
I know we can’t talk politics but my guess is allot of our buyers are a bit pre-occupied by it, pretty interesting times to say the least. Could be totally wrong though, just my rambling thoughts
Just noticed this new feature, love the layout of the new page and loving the option even more! Thanks @envato_crew!
Same here, have never had a customer where he was so furious at me personally or found one of my files that bad that he went and rated it 1 star. The only causes i can imagine where someone rates a file 1 star after having spent money on it are;
1 – The buyer just simply didn’t know what he was purchasing and felt so cheated he went and directed his anger on the star rating system.. by rating it 1 star…
2 – The buyer doesn’t know after effects and figured he would be able to get free customization options from the author, again – directs his anger towards the rating system and rates 1 star.
3 – A author has a competing file in that category and sees your file has a better rank than him and tries to undermine the whole business side of things here and actually purchases your file only to rate it 1 star..
In other words, the whole 1 2 3 4 5 star thing is plain wrong. Even if i had a customer that was sincerely disappointed with one of my files he would contact me about it or speak openly on it in the comment section and then he/she would still NOT give me a 1 star rating, maybe a 3-4 just simply not 5 stars. This last scenario happened maybe once or twice in all these years for me so go figure.
I shudder with horror at something where the customer is going to have to match-light against grain, place match-moving markers, use the correct lens, shoot footage, match-move it decently, key it properly, color match and comp it properly.
This and imagine now someone scolding you when they want customization on the vfx piece they just bought for $20 and you want 10x that price at least to incorp it into their shot properly. Depending on how complex the piece it would still be a bargain, but imagine.
I shouldn’t go too deep into hypothetical’s… it’s bad for my heart.
I have to agree with Themespirit here Doru and i hope you mean indeed a ’’break’’ which can be healthy but i would really be shocked if you meant you are going to be silent over issues, that is the direct opposite of what any healthy environment needs to grow/develop, especially in these times where everyone is already being so overly passive.
Hope to see you back soon!
Well thanks for the suggestions guys. After a bit of tinkering, it looks like both issues 1 and 2 are coming from simply having too many compositions in the project panel… I guess it’s just too much for the software to handle. 482 comps total with 5000+ expressions… I went back on previous iterations and found that major slow-downs started happening at around 400 comps. hmmm now to reduce this project somehow I wonder if there’s a cutoff point or a safe zone, any ideas?
5000+ expressions? forget the the amounts of comps i think its the expressions in this one. Just out of my experience i’m talking, no idea if it’s the same in your case. maybe work with proxies? Saves you a ton of comps and expression calculations, if you are set on a certain amount of frames just render out a proxy for them and work further, etc etc until you have what you need. I don’t know exactly the purpose of your project so i can’t comment further upon it.
Whatever the case, it seems like you can learn from this project for future one’s. Manage things better now you know you can come across these issues. As much as the software advertises itself that imagination is your only limitation, processing power and software handling is a limitation that you’ve got to keep in mind as well
Awww was getting excited for nothing !
