I don’t think the design was good enough, hence only 9 sales after 40 days! anyway. When you make designs, like this, black and white mostly, you need to compensate the lake of additional color with more details in elements – to bring back the balance.

he was refereed first somewhere else to TF and because of that, the ref id in his cookie remained the same when he loaded the page, etc. then when he clicked to your site that’s the result.
pixful, your designs are good, but not perfect for themeforest, here’s a few notes:
1. some designs on PSD section from 2010 are there and were accepted in 2010, you should only see in PSD section what they have accepted in the past 6 months or so
2. you are on the right track with your skills and level of work, you just need to perfect it, by seeing what others do and doing it better, you just need inspiration and that’s about all.
3. there are I bet different reviewers, and different opinions.
4. PSD section will be the least profitable for you, each item costs less and there are far less customers who buy it than WP theme. only developers and people who know what they are doing go into that section, and 90% of the world and customers are people who have no interest into getting their feet dirty and they will choose whole theme instead. and there are other issues like bad conversion rate on sales because of the way PSDs are sold (no demo, no interaction.)
well, honestly I think there is more to improve in terms of design. Coding something that isn’t yet ready is a waste of time I think, you should focus improving the design first and then code it, I like the upper layout of the design, it’s ok I can say, but the bottom layout isn’t talking to me.
your selection of colors used in upper side is good but everything else needs improvment 1. the images you used on your slider are really simple ones and i would think 2. there might be room for finding a better more elegant font to be used 3. the read more button isn’t there yet and looks too simple, slider arrows look too outdated? 4. for the mid-footer part there is just too much to improve
your original concept and colors were better, imo.
back end only counts for 30% of the first impression of the theme, that’s why TF wants good designs that will bounce the sales, good back end though helps keep customer satisfaction and low tech support cost, as well as the overall satisfaction of the client after the sale and the potential of him recommending it to someone else.
you should use max-width for some of your elements such as contact form fields, etc. you can’t really expect them to be 100% width as it will look really bad having long white input lines.
Well overall, almost all the links you provided and the other themes, for me look really bad, and I can tell you this because I have seen better designs, that’s why they suggest you to look for other designs so you’ll know what’s better and what’s worse. I can have a design and I would love it until I see a better one and then I’ll go back to the other design and check it and compare it sometimes.
The main problems designs have are bad color chemistry, bad execution of elements (i.e too much shadow for a certain element), spacing problems, too much spacing between items where in other location there is too little spacing, typography (bad fonts, too many fonts, etc),
I would bet that if you have good color chemistry + good execution of elements you already have probably more then 50-75% of the design done.
The only reason they would approve bad designs is also if it’s a niche category such as food and recipes, etc.
In your design there are many problems, i.e: 1. Top navigation white seperators look bad, I would do cuts instead 2. right search box, too much inner shadow, try to play with light grey background color for search box 3. center menu too much short, needs to give it more height. 4. the overal color concept in the center menu is bad, too many colors and bad ones, i.e you have also too diffrent shades of red, one light one dark (prefer the darker) 5. main white box (page container) has a too much shadow 6. slider pagination should be centered (bad colors, bad execution)
these points are just for the top area and its already 6 (there are more probably)
overall design is outdated.
