oo! Chiangmai is on the list, I’m not quite sure when but during the next two months. Do you live there? I have heard so many nice things about it. :)

This is a bit off topic but it also something that should be take under consideration: A good logo needs to work as black and white. not only as color but as only black and white, no shades of gray. you know… for embossing or foil printing or cutouts.

then another thing is the amount of detail in the logo. when you design a logo you should print it out, some small some big then take a look at them to see how the different sizes work from distance: do the shapes still make sense? Does it look interesting? and does it reproduce the feeling you wanted? I know it sounds like a lot of work and wasted time and I’m afraid most designers don bother doing that. But in my opinion its our responsibility to make sure that the logos actually work. usually the customers have no idea what works and what doesn’t. and it’s not really their job.

cheers!

I’m glad you’re going flat UI. theres way too many shiny beveled uis already. then again flat is not easy. you need to pay so much attention to the little details that it will drive you crazy. and with this ui you have loads of work ahead of you. loads. but also to be able to complete this path you have chosen, i’d say you need to spend atleast one night reading about it and studying the consept of flat ui design. also it wil help if you get to understand grids and do a little bit of engineering work with the widths and heights of thins, and with the font sizes spacings and margins. now you have just made them up, theres no logic behind it and it looks very random. Don’t take this the wrong way. take it more like a challenge. I’d say do it. The process will teach you alot even if it hurts :)

To be able to say for sure whats the issue we should take a look at product and at the help/documentation file you sent with it. It sound like your documentation / help file was not informative enough, or then you didn’t have one in the zip file or then you attached a wrong help file. the documentation should explain the customer how to use your product.

there’s many slightly different versions of garamond. Garamond Classico for example has got very similar R right. http://www.linotype.com/478/GaramondClassico-family.html

but yeah, it’s also most likely compressed a little bit.
