I’m glad collis cleared things out. Bobo hopping for no grudge :), I really love this community, the way users support eachother, the general atmosphere. All I did is speak my mind, share my opinion.

Cheers,

Adrian

I think it has to do a lot with the authors! :) Good thing you mentioned that. I thought you guys own it. :D I still don’t like the design though. :p

Any subjective opinion about that site’s design doesn’t interests me at all, but sure I’d like to hear why a competition between to sites that share the same goal has something to do with the authors. In what manner ? I’ve only pointed this out in a positive manner: more sites=more places to sell stuff, competition = owners of these sites will have to find ways to keep their users happy, so if one makes a move, don’t think the other one is going to stay and look. Don’t forget that this topic is about the payment rates, and all the talk I have done , I have done regarding this issue.

Just out of interest why do you say flashcomponents.net is a total failure?
There interface in one of the worst I have ever seen , it’s very complicated to use , on the other side , flashden is designed almost perfectly , apart from the forum of course. And flash community here is great. flashcomponents didn’t built their site from the ground up , they just wrapped the new part around their oldsite. Competition should really take notice how this site is built…..

Their interface it’s not complicated , it’s just different. Maybe, now FD is the best from the market regarding this type of activity, but with the rising of these simmilar sites only good can come for the authors who now have more places to sell their work and also, because of the competition, probably the rates will grow. FC is only at the begining, it has a few months, but who knows, maybe in a short period of time it will make a difference. It’s just my opinion, and I think you should see it from the author’s point of view, unless of course you’re a member of the FD staff.

Adrian, you guys designed/built it. ;)

I could give you a hint: your design is overloaded. Good luck though. I always loved competitions. :p

:D Hey, I was just pointing out the fact that a little competition would give some advantages to the authors, you know, like higher rates (wich almost everyone complaints of). And I thought it was unfair to say those things about a similar site just beacause it doesn’t have the same features as the FD site. Maybe the guy was from the begining with FD, and, from what I’ve experienced, The FD interface it’s very well thought, very easy to use, although it’s is always room for improvments, and he couldn’t accept that it can be other ideas of interfaces too :) . From what you’re saying it sounds like FC belongs to Oxylus but that is not true :) . If so, wouldn’t that be weird that we sell the same files on FD too ? Oxylus only built the site. Afterwards, we’re just regular authors who benefit from the same rates as the other authors, here on FD aswell on FC.

On the other part, I totaly agree with you regarding the benefits that come with being a exclusive author. That takes time, but time and loialty always pays off. It’s every author’s choice to balance the pros and cons.

And last but not least, it’s not a competition yet, but if it will be one, it will be between FD and FC, wich has nothing to do with us authors.

Jwg, I totally agree with you, and Bobo, with all the respect, being a memeber of the FD team and one of the best authors here, I think you shouldn’t take sides and focus more on trying to put down conflicts between users, in other words, make peace for the sake of this lovely community.

Hello mhaney,

I do believe that if you’re really pressed for time you should use a limited but ready-to-use solution because realistically if you want all that custom made, just for you, you’ll need to give the developer much more time than a couple of days, this is something that could take up to a month to custom-make, integrate and deliver as a finished solution (depending on all the details/features etc.). I hope you don’t mind this advice but sometimes it helps to be realistic.

All the best, Octavian
