The funny thing about the vacation/absence time is that Envato will surely have to set up a limit for this – otherwise some authors will do just like Enabled said
So, what is the maximum amount of holidays that authors can take each year? 10 days? Is 40 days too much? This makes me sick… At this very moment I really can’t see this as a viable path for the whole Marketplace. I just hope that a better solution can be found among all the input on this thread
greenline saidAway on holiday… Is this a joke? Now I have to tell you or Envato where I am and what I’m doing?
That can be easily solved if Envato developers could add a status to our profile pages or items pages: “Available for support/Away on holiday/etc”.
Bah… This whole thread seems to be going nowhere
EDIT: at this moment I’m not entirely against this change, but there are some details that are really important to clarify before having a final opinion about it.
+1 here too.
One of the things that I love the most on this job is that I am free to do whatever I want, whenever I feel like. I started almost 3 years ago and I never took 72h to reply to any buyer, but I don’t want to have this deadline thing always over my head.
In the end, these changes that Envato is proposing seem to have the potential to break the whole trust relation between authors and buyers.
Envato: just like you give us the option to be exclusive or not, let us decide about the mandatory support program.
stewboon saidSorry, but where do you got this info from? Also, this will change, because now users are going to pay for this type of support and it will make them feel that they have right to ask for more stuff.
We already know that it is only a minority of buyers that ever request support and that by being clear about what support buyers are entitled to this should not change.
If you want to implement this change that is ok, but don’t make it mandatory for all authors. Basically, I want to give support like I always do, but I don’t want to receive more money for that. Please let us authors decide about this.
purethemes saidYes, but placing a paid installation button on the right side of the download button is
Installation services exists for a long time on Envato Studio https://studio.envato.com/explore/wordpress-installation – it’s nothing new.
I am not too worried about it, but I think that the text under the button should be different like it was suggested here before.
Yeah, same here… Never happened to me since the Flashden good ol’ days
Not just 1 theme. Currently 11 and counting
So I am not alone… Thank you for your feedback
Anyone else having “trouble” with the update queue? I know that it is weekend, but theme updates were usually reviewed/approved in a maximum time of 6h (usually less than 3 even on weekends).
At this moment I have 3 updates in queue 23h ago. I saw a recent thread of trouble with the queue and I wonder if this is only happening to me
