@babyboy88 – I tried that already thanks, the font calls itself ‘Myriad Pro Cond’, the cufon js of the font calls it ‘MyriadPro-BoldCond’ but neither works.

@TrueStudios – I’m wondering if it might be because I’m not running the scripts on the same host but calling them in from RobbyDesigns.com (the site itself is a Blogger).

Gnnn, anyone please help, this is why I hate Dev.

Hi Robby, Great site. that is my country :) i will try to help you. I am checking your site via IETester, and there is a bug on javascripts. Line is 431, Characters is 13.

If you can contact me via info@codestarlive.com i can help you for my country ahaha :D

by the way, “illusionem” there is an replacer as “cufon-replace.js”, i think you didn’t see it.

Thanks guys,I used the usual scripts to call in the cufon and had it working with the ‘Freebooter’ font but alas the Myriad Pro Bold Condensed just wont work, guess it’s the font as the js are as I always use them and they usually work. Stumped.

@Codestar, thanks for the offer but this is a private project and my brother is too tight to pay for help mate sorry.

I forgot to say don’t be too surprised at prices, good designers charge sensible prices, poor designers charge very low – after all a good Designer can always be off making money elsewhere!

Hello, I need some advice.

I need to find a good graphic designer for a few clients. Ive bean building blogs and websites for them but my designer skill are a 5 out 10.

I had a designer that Ive bean working with for 17 years but he’s more focused on print work now and moving away from web design. Ive bean on craigslist.com and a few other sites but after emailing those Designers I get the feeling that they just want money and lots of it, especially for the smaller projects that Ive bean shopping around.

Anyone have some advice of were to look and what questions to ask besides looking at their portfolio? I have about 9 different designs projects ranging from Headers, Twiiter themes, logo updates, and ads ranging in sizes from 200×250 to 900×350.

I got a lot of work on my plate, but finding the right person is hard. Any advice would be great.

Thanks!

First of all I wouldn’t put too much kudos in Craigslist which I for one have never joined as it seems like a site that spammers would love, a good Designer gets about, think about visiting the more creative websites, personall I love to browse DeviantArt.com where I’m sure you’ll find a great designer.

Headers, Twitter themes and banner designs are not really big money makers and that’s why a lot of us freelance graphics guys do go the way of print but these areas are not hard to judge so if you go to DeviantArt and search for Twitter backgrounds etc you’re bound to find someone who designs to your taste, once you’ve found the person don’t be too surprised when they ask about the money because these areas are not particularly hard to create and thus the price is easily quoteable.

Just a ‘bump’ mate, you may want to link to work you’ve done in the past. I’m a Designer and not looking to collab here but if I were then I’d want to see the Dev’s work, obviously your design wouldn’t need to be amazing (or you wouldn’t be looking to collab) but you would be showing you are capable.

Hi Robby,

To help with getting an accurate quote, here are some details:

  • The template only allows for 1 swf/module per page.
  • The solution would be to load the home page module AND the contact module into a single swf, and then load that single swf into the template.
  • The modules will run outside of the template, but the xml and css urls will need to be hard-coded in the ActionScript if this is done. These urls are determined in the Document classes of every module.
  • When the modules are run outside of the template (like in the example above), the borders/blurs are not available. One solution could be to use the special “custom module” template, but this only supports a single blur border (which may/may not look that great with two modules side by side).

Good luck Robby :)

Also, whoever picks up the job, feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Thanks, I didn’t realise there was so much to do, that’s because I don’t usually use Flash. Luckily this is a personal project so I may be able to find a way around it, ‘all’ I want is a site like the official Hurt Locker movie website but it doesn’t seem to be going that way – see what I have so far at http://www.robbydesigns.com/yosai

Hmmm.wondering what to do now…
