Which is best for getting some web design work? DeviantArt or Flickr?

I love DeviantArt but I’m not sure if clients go there – it seems ‘just’ a meeting place for artists and designers.

What do you think?

I’m converting a Joomla theme to HTML but am stuck with this statement in the CSS :

.min-width {width:expression(((document.documentElement.clientWidth || document.body.clientWidth) < 981)? "981px" : "100%"); min-width:981px;}

Can someone tell me the CSS equivalent (if it even needs it), thank you.

I’m with ‘clarklab’ – ages ago I updated two websites unknowing I had some freaky thing on my computer which got itself into the updates..when the sites went live they had little ‘iframes’. I scanned for viruses, found a nasty (cant remember what its called but I was only using AVG Free Edition at the time so it’s gotta be easy to find and delete). I killed the nasty, changed the FTP details and re-upped, no problems ever since. Nowadays I scan for viruses once a week (:

Thanks for your input, appreciate it.

As for ‘carriers’ what are they? Is that what we in the UK call ‘Networks’ (02, Vodafone, etc).

Hers is a basic mobile phone, nothing flashy and that’s why I am confused. Maybe, if I’m reading it right, jonathan01 has solved it – maybe it’s true that they are pushing YouTube and blocking all other sites but that seems strange.

Hmmm..it’s a puzzle hey.

Hmm, interesting problem here – I just went to my local shop and the lady said she could only go to YouTube on her new mobile phone and could I change it so she can go to Google instead.

No worries, I thought (what a fool)! I clicked the button to launch her Home page (YouTube) and forced it to take me to Google (by refusing their Terms of Service) as I could not find anywhere to actually type a URL . Once at Google, I chose’options’ and chose to set Google.com to the Home page for her phone. Done….err..but..it comes up with ‘Error 403 Forbidden’.

So, I exitted the internet from her phone and, rather than clicking her ‘internet’ button (which would take me again to YouTube) I found a browser in the phone, went to Google, set it as the Home page and low and behold ‘Error 403 Forbidden’.

wtf ?

What you said assumes there are many submissions of different designs and that they all (or at least the majority) are well designed when in fact the large majority of submissions are the header-scrolling, etc. type designs you mentioned while many designs simply aren’t up to our criteria. The reviewers are open to creative and “ouside-the-box” designs but they still have to be well designed and authors still have to submit them. ;-)

Guilty as charged your honour, I guess I was assuming a few things in my post but it does seem most of the themes are of that stereotypical design I talked about..I guess that’s people playing it safe huh?

I think it would help us all if maybe TF could give us a simple list of what they look for.

Thanks and sorry (:

Nice work, I deffo like it. I think TF could do with some new reviewers (sorry) because they seem to be just accepting the default header-scrolling images-some text with a couple images which, although there are some v.talented people on here, is getting very old. This is constructive feedback, don’t want to offend.

for the future – get the lgo, cut it up in Photoshop so all you got is the text, then go to ‘WhatTheFont’ and it will give you an idea of what font is being used.

Nice link mate thanks, I found it boring at the beginning but when it kicks off it’s awesome. I play PS3 ‘shidoshi_rob’.
