If you want to rel publisher markup to be picked up by Google follow this : https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/1708844?hl=en .
Knowledge Graph entries are not something that will pop up for all queries, it will show up for branded search , once Google makes the association for your brand for the search term. They source that information from brand pages on Wikipedia, FreeBase, etc so most likely you will need to have an entry on those sites too. In my experience this doesn’t show up until your brand page ( on Google+ ) builds up a certain level of engagement.
You might have better luck with Authorship on content pages : https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/1408986?hl=en
You can test if you have added the rel publisher tag correctly from here : http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets
