Where are my followed authors? I only like seeing the work of a select few (hence why I follow them) and now that seems to have gone.

Not a fan of the new design guys, it wasn’t broken so why try to fix it.

The ‘Astronaut’ template is now in the queue… for those who are interested.

There are two cows in the field at the end. The idea was to prove the difference between taking inspiration from something and just simply copying it.

So…

I sat down for a couple of hours this morning and made this. Now it isn’t word for word to the script of @VideoMaster but then again I didn’t want to copy it, I was merely INSPIRED by it.

Hopefully will get this onto the marketplace in the next couple of weeks. I still have some tweaks to do before I am entirely happy with the animation.

J

what if you think a lot and find an idea and ready to make it, then you go searching in VH to see if someone has made it before, and bam you find an item similar to what you had in mind, what would you do then? would you say “S@#$, let’s go find another idea”? or you will try to make something new out of that same concept, something that is different to the already existed item at least in implementation? im just curious to know what you guys do in these situations!

Because there’s only ever one way of producing something…

And @Jekot yes the word ‘inspiration’ does exist but it should not come from this site.

The author of the original tree photo gallery was inspired by something off-site, the subsequent projects saw that and copied it.

There is a massive difference between seeing something in nature or in an art gallery or over-hearing a conversation or just taking a walk in a park and getting inspired to create something new rather than looking at the best-selling list on Videohive and going “hmmm, I could do that and get a lot of sales.”

My latest project was ‘inspired’ by the fact that my best friends just had a baby and I wanted to create something beautiful for them. It was not as a result of seeing someone on here being successful with another ‘You’ve had a baby’ project.

There is a difference and I have a clear understanding of that. I hope one day you can learn it too.

Anyway, rant over. I’m feeling inspired so I’m going to go animate An astronaut flying towards a moon and then get hitted by a flying super alien cow. Astronaut dies and the cow goes to the Earth and write across the clouds “Your text goes here.”

@Massfocus – you are totally right and my frustrations are (and always will be) targeted at two parties in this debate.

On the one hand there is the author for copying the work but more importantly we have Envato who are allowing such blatant rip-offs on the marketplace when their copyright policy quite clearly states a no-tolerance approach to imitation projects.

Who are they protecting?

Dude seriously…I think you need to check this out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paranoia. btw I’m sure when you started here your first project was a little bit inspired by someones else work. You can send links to my items to authors who you think i “copied” I will be gratful. eot

You have two items in your portfolio. One is a photo gallery attached to a tree…

see: Photo Gallery on a Sunny Afternoon by Bluehatdesign

The other item in your gallery ‘Shapes Opener’ is a direct copy of ‘Colorful Shapes Opener’ by AeYaz.

I am actually really glad that you came into this forum to argue your case as you are exactly the type of person who in my opinion is stagnating the market place with duplicated and copied projects. More needs to be done to stop this as it is unfair to the authors who come up with the original idea.
