....... so i think envato can protect the files! ... what comes to my mind is Envato for example can prepare a new system to encrypt files with a password that will be sent to a phone number which the buyer registers during purchasing procedure in, say, 24 hours after the purchase! ... so if a fraud buys something, (s)he must register a phone number!
fake number>sale reversal->no access to the files! real number>sale reversal->tracking the number by James Bond!
Thank you Japh for your great effort for clarification I have one question.
Why “page builders” are allowed in the theme? ( phase 2)
If buyer will switch to any other theme then all content added via “page builder” will not work in another theme.
First, I’m all for changes, and I believe it will lead ThemeForest to be even more popular. But please explain me one thing – the shortcodes issue. What’s the point of moving it to plugin, if for each theme it is different case. We’ve got themes build for different grid systems, sometimes it’s skeleton, sometimes bootstrap, sometimes some custom solution, so even basic columns shortcode each time needs to return different html structure. So are we supposed to put ‘columns’ to a plugin, which will still be useless if user will switches theme to different one?
I think custom post type is good to keep in the theme otherwise it will take more time for buyers to import demo content. For example for portfolio – buyer need to install portfolio plugin and import demo content for portfolio posts and same for other post types like testimonials, team members, sliders, FAQs etc. – this is time consuming for buyers.
We (all authors) have different (or unique) design for all post types in each theme and for this we have to make each post types plugin for each theme – this is time consuming for authors.
