I like this track man, the only thing I’d say about the vocal, its a little bit annoying to me.. but that’s only my opinion.. I’m curious what the others are saying.
Yes, i can handle if someone says it’s not in their taste, that’s not the problem. It’s just that i’m wasting so much time by moving from one to another account just because Envato still does not listen to exclusivity per item requests, but then hard reject a track that has been featured before.
now this is quite funny (or not). I’ve had a item on my exclusive account and as it’s still not possible to select on the same user account if an item is exclusive or not, i had to open a new Non-Exclusive account.
Now i moved an title that sold quite ok from my exclusive account to my non-exclusive account (a track that has won a Envato competition and has been featured on AJ).
And funny thing, on my new account the reviewer rejected my item for “This submission does not meet our commercial production (recording/mixing/mastering) standard” which is quite funny, as it sure does meet the criteria as they even featured it in the past. OK, it might not suit the reviewers taste, but common, this is just wasting my time if it was OK on my account and i only moved it because Envato does not give the opportunity to select exclusivity on a item basis.
here’e the track : https://soundcloud.com/sonic-media-design/again-n-again
what do you guys think ? Open a ticket and wasting even more time and nerves or just shut up and skip it ?
Hello fellow Enavto Authors
I’m a musician and Studio owner. As i have a good contact to the scene worldwide, i know there are so many requests for a mp3 download / e-commerce template that really has real world features. Everything available for sale out there is programmed by poeple who have obviously no knowledge about how such a store should look and work. Mostly the available templates are “just” Woocomerce templates with some additions for having mp3 files and digital content donwloads available, but not working solutions for a business.
So i started investigating in available plugins and asked around how everyone would wish the template works and which functions should be available for a good user experience.
Now i’m in need for someone EXPERIENCED in creating mp3 e-commerce stores based on Woocommerce (or similar) to team up with. CSS, HTML and basic PHP could be done by myself and most of the desired PHP / Shop functions are allready available.
If you know how a good mp3 Download store works ( functionality and user friendly ), please get in touch with me. Please see http://www.beatport.com for a good example regarding finctionality (not design).
PLEASE do only apply for this job / project if you have experience with stuff like this and / or are a proofed php expert and music lover. I would need to see work examples from you in this direction (mp3 e-commerce and/or extensive woocommerce customizations). I will not reply to offers without the according examples on Music Download stores.
45 so far, looks like things getting back to “normal” again. Good luck everyone !!
I wrote this a while ago in another thread, and would love to bring this to your (or Envatos) attention again.
As a more or less “huge” company, in regards of the amount of electronic data, you should realy take in account to have a mirrored system for tests and developement.
I have worked many years in a IT (SAP) developement departement, and it’s crucial to work on business critical changes in a test environment before going live with it. Envato should understand that they are responsible for many individuals here which are living on the income from this marketplace. So it’s not something that should be taken light hearted and see how it goes.
Don’t get me wrong, i don’t want to offend anyone here, especialy not the hard working developers at Envato, but you should explain your “Bosses”, that it’s absolutely wrong to make changes and tests on a live system before everything has been tested and verified to work 100%.
Thanks for reading and sorry for my english.
I absolutely agree on the fact that every individual has the right to decide if he wants to tell the world how much he earns ( at least if it’s a legal business ).
In most western civilisations it’s safe to tell how much you earn, you will probably see some jealous reactions but not more.
But as the OP said, there are other countries and cultures. My parents worked for a support project in a very poor country in the eastern part. There you can get in trouble only for wearing good shoes or for having enough money to travel to this country. So i can understand that your life can be threatened by the fact people know you are earning thousands of dollars a month. And for those saying he has the wrong friends surrounding him, you probably have no idea how difficult it can be for someone with money to be surrounded by people who have nothing at all. Friendship is allmost impossible then, just don’t ignore that !
For me it’s ok to hide ALL the badges as an option. We have the right to choose what we want to be public and what not. Even if Envato make the rules and the badges are one of the main reasons for their success. It’s more important to keep their authors/workers safe then having fear for changes.
Thanks Dev Team for bringing some light into the dark.
What i still don’t understand is, why you do all the testing in the live system ? In the company where i worked, we allways had a mirrored sytem for that and applied all the changes only when it run smoth in the test system. This would save us all a lot of headaches and money
Not possible on the Envato system ?
Guys, please, I know these changes are sometimes annoying and always bring a certain level of uncertainty with them. But let’s give the dev team a break and not panic immediately while some things are just probably still in a testing stage. It doesnt help the whole process imho.
I mean, after all, they’re trying to improve things, so let’s try to give some constructive feedback.
I’m sure the blue color is just a subtle attempt by photodune to take over Audiojungle
And let’s all take a deep breath… and repeat after me: ’ It’s all gonna be goooood’
I have no problem with improving things, i really appreciate that. But it’s not good to do it as :
- Make changes forth and back on the frontend (use a mirrored system instead).
- Don’t inform the Authors HOW we should apply item tags and titles for best customer experience.
Sure, it could be said “just enter the tags and titel as anywhere else”. BUT as many of us try to sell for a living, it should be understandable that we do care about best practice. It’s like the company you work for constantly changes sales stragies and adjust your income accordingly. It’s not just moaning and whining for the sake of it, but as an real life problem when my income drops 50% everytime things like this happen. And no, it’s not a coinsidence, as my income has been very very stable over the last 2 years.
Hope you understand why some of us really care about sales numbers here !
While i was loyal to this marketplace for over 4 years, i will try my luck on some other Stockmarkets for my upcoming music. It just makes no sense when we adapt to new search engine routines, just to realize they have been changed again a few weeks later (and we would have to adapt all tags etc. again).
And why did we move from green to blue on AJ ?
Ok, i have checked with his production Company, and they have sent me a copy of the license. What bothers me is A. why they used a Watermarked version then, and B. ist it really enough if they bought the single license ?
And i have just read the new licensing terms of Envato. Check this things out, this is really annyoing me as an Author of this Marketplace :
If I make a clip for YouTube using music from AudioJungle, can I monetize the clip by allowing ads?
Yes. You can use any item you have bought on AudioJungle for commercial purposes. Because your clip is free for the end consumer to watch on YouTube, all you need is the Regular Licence. This is true even if you have decided to monetize your clip through advertising, because the end consumer doesn’t need to pay to watch it. This FAQ confirms that your license includes a commercial use right (and as the licenses state, these FAQs form a part of the Regular and Extended Licences).
Which license do I need to use an item in a commercial?
You only need a regular license where the end product is an advertisement. It doesn’t matter if the advertisement is for things that are being sold.
So is the guy fine with having like 250’000 views within a few weeks, but only having a regular license ? Even if he monteized his videos and earns a lot of money.
I almost forgott how great it is to be a musician / artist or whatever we call it …..
