Last year September was my worst month, I wasn’t expecting any huge difference between August and Sept. Hopefully things should be back in full swing by October though.
Stores already stocking Halloween stuff, might as well upload now. Business’s probably already have their Christmas commercials / marketing ready to go.
Too much calculation, too much confusion
Things are clear, Envato vs author: Envato +1 Author -1
The $2 surcharge is now going completely to envato and is not getting split up between the author and envato, like in the past.
Personally, with a single calculation, I will lose about $ 4,200 / year. with this new “Envato More Balanced Market”. Envato strangulate more the authors by this inequitable system.
Pretty much sums it all up!
Awesome news, glad to see they are listening to us.
My only thing is the standard license gives to much usage rights, maybe less than 1 million broadcast viewers or no broadcast at all, although local tv stations buy a lot from here and I know their budgets are tiny.
Next thing we would all love would be PRO organizations allowed like pretty much every other royalty free site out there has , would love to make extra deserved money from the broadcast if we are going after that crowd with the new license changes.
Thanks for listening to the community Envato, a win for everyone.
Been a slow summer but things are starting to look better as far as what’s normal for me anyways. Wish everyone good luck.
I uploaded my first few tracks in March and I believe it was July 15th I was then able to see some results for only the first month I uploaded back in March, so Im guessing as of Aug 15th I will be able to see February’s results.
Looks like a 5 month delay.
Congrats Matt, and well deserved. I really am impressed by how smartly you have attacked the royalty free music world business wise, you totally understand that good music is only half the battle. Your musical ability is also matched. Takes the right combination of both to become an elite author, well done!
