Hey guys, Just broke down and bought myself a Ukulele. Fender Mino Aka, just used it on my new A.J. track. Just wondering what some of you use?, what size is the best for you?. Mine is a concert size.
Really find playing a new type of instrument has brought on new inspiration. I will probably try something new soon like mandolin or something. Sometimes writing things that would sound boring and overdone on guitar can have new life and feel with new instrument.
Also can anyone suggest a good artist that uses almost exclusively the Ukulele in more of a pop style, kind of like eddie vedder’s new album but better and more legit.
Welcome. Nice music, I really like “The Wanderer” great production on it.
Great! Nice video that guy made with your music, they go well together.
Congrats Sky, well deserved for sure!
I use Sample Tank XL, but not too much anymore, recently got Komplete bundle. Although IK seems easier on the cpu. I use T-Racks for mastering.
Song and video were amazing together!!
Yep, I’m using the ref links as standard, but yet to have any direct referrals off these. However, I can still see that people are visiting the links, and I often get personal feedback. I only started towards the end of March, so still early days really to see if the referral program is effective.
I’ve read quite a few posts however, that it’s not that effective for people on AJ, for whatever reason. (Themeforest referrals seems to be through the roof, presumably because their work is often featured on blogs, etc)Either way, I’m not overly concerned with this, because as I mentioned earlier, I’m really using Twitter as a form of networking rather than solely as a sales catcher, if you know what I mean.
Gotcha!! When it comes down to it, just writing great music and uploading only quality work is the real sale maker. Looks like your off to a great start, good luck!!
AlumoAudio I completely agree that in this day in age social media is a big deal if used right. Im not saying to abandon twitter, just isn’t working for me at this stage. I would like to build a nice buyer base of followers at some point where it would be more effective when I send out a tweet notification of a new release.
Also your right the spam tweeting is out of control, and when doing person to person sales its always important to build a relationship with your potential buyers thats why tweeting things other then promos is good. Tim does a good job balancing between promo’s, personal info, and things like inspirational quotes. (sorry to keep using tim as Ex. but lets face it he has mastered the promo game)
AlumoAudio I don’t see a referral badge, are you using referral links on your tweets, if not try it, it would help you see if the tweets were working.
. I’m not trying to be negative and I believe in promotion but promotion that is efficient is key. If you guys have had success with twitter, I would love to hear.I have personally seen the clickthroughs on my account rocket every time I “tweet”... As to whether it has helped with sales… I am not so sure. I am conscious of spamming, but am looking for different ways to promote. I sometimes throw in what I believe to be an interesting thing I read on tinternet…. Which, I think helps with variation.
I saw click throughs as well when I used referral type link but then I noticed as soon as I posted the link and with a tweet I got like 3 click throughs on audiojungle instantly. I thought wow this is great, jackpot, to easy. Then I started testing it and it seems as though every time you post a tweet with a link some automated process by twitter takes place instantly giving you like 3 (not real human) click throughs. I did it over and over till I ruled out any real human action.
If you put your link through a url shortener like Bitly or google you can see real stats if anyone is clicking. I saw zero results.
I don’t have many followers so for me it doesn’t work because people are obviously not searching for royalty free music through twitter or at least not when I tweet. The hash mark tags which are meant for search purposes have not been effective, maybe for others but not me.
It works well like I mentioned if you are Tim M. or Soundroll and have a ton of followers strictly because of your music and they are past and current buyers not just musician friends.
Im not denying what you posted, if it works for you great, I just thought you should know some of the click throughs you see might not be real.
