The ratings system as it stands is just visual noise, or worse a pointless deterrent to a buyer even bothering to preview a track. For the life of me I cannot understand why anyone would listen to, and then buy a track only to decide it wasn’t good. Seems like a buyers remorse meter to me.

I don’t even pay attention to the ratings. I’d love to see them gone so buyers do not either.

In further thought, I guess this is what we signed up here for. I guess if its a youtube spot only and just one video I guess the reality is 14 bucks gets it. Unless they would want exclusive rights to use that song and they would want you to take it off the market.

If you can try to get them to give you credit for the song in the video description, at least that could be worth something. Good luck, and congrats on your song being chosen.

I’m pretty sure a couple of other guys took songs off AudioJungle because of a similar situation, they probably privately negotiated a WAY better deal. I would try that if they are indeed a big name company, they probably would rather do that than deal with a vague license agreement that is offered here that nobody seems to ever understand. I get emails all the time about what the license really means as far as usage.

I think companies are willing to pay more if it means a safer deal legally, it makes them feel better. They probably think its too good to be true to get a track for that cheap. Its unreal the price for such usage, an absolute joke matter a fact. Way to leave a ton of money on the table!

Sad Gareth, your like the last of the foundation authors who still actually post meaningful stuff in the forums and aren’t totally disenchanted like the other original top authors who built this market place up. Now it looks like even your ready to go build up another market place(competitor).

I have only been here over a year, but it’s crazy how this forum and community attitude has changed and yes quality of threads. It’s either, “hey I got my 8th sale”, or a complaint that’s been asked for but never receives attention and just gets some stock line from staff.

It’s obvious people really like A.J. and care about what happens here and that’s why feature request are made. It would just be nice to see something that has been on top of the request list actually be implemented.

Anyone one? At least an explanation of why the rating system can’t just be immediately removed from A.J.?

Nice, just got a low rating on a track on my other non-exclusive account,,,well there goes that song. The time and effort I put into it now probably for nothing.

The authors have been asking to have this useless rating system removed forever now. The line of communication from staff lately is good and all, but if you want real improved relations between Envato and authors just give us something, anything, it’s easy. Not just talk but actually do something. If you can’t remove this silly rating system at least explain why.

I just wanted to say thank you to all of the authors and the starter of this thred. I am about to purchase my first real orchestral library in January. I have a limited budget of around $1,000. Last year I became interested in Spitfire’s Albion. But as a beginner in the field of orchestral music, I may want to concentrate on a more useful library for somone with very few resources in the genre at the moment. East West Holywood Strings or Symphobia sound like my best bets. I have a feeling that a library with a “finished” sound will serve me best for the time being. Which one do you guys think I should start with?

Looks like Hollywood Strings and other ewql items are going to be 50% off starting today, nice deal! Some nice deals at Native Instruments and Soundiron as well.

Just a quick update on this. We’ll be doing this in 4 stages.

1. Initial research of how we sit in terms of quality, licensing, and pricing – Done

2. Figure out if we need to make a change in licensing before a pricing change occurs – Begun

3. Discuss our findings with a small group of authors, including exclusive, non-exclusive, top-selling, and hobbyist authors – To do

4. Do a public poll to let everyone have input

Though we’ve started this process, we’re in the middle of a similar process with another item type. I’ll fill you in on dates when we have a better idea of when they’ll be.

Sounds good, thanks for the communication. I and I’m sure others appreciate the efforts you guys have been giving the community lately as far as communication, seemed to be a bit of a uprising happening.
