Big Congrats! Now thats an accomplishment!
I guess I’m trying to say that as nice as it is for Tim to see where his music has been used especially on TV/Film, it’s probably pretty bitter sweet at this point if not frustrating.
If you’re not aware there is a big issue with authors right now in the lack of broadcasting license options.
I’m sure he’ll appreciate you pointing it out for him though.
If you saw it on TV I believe they should have bought the Extended License. Am I right? =)
Sadly no, $17 gets it.
I had a song on a major company’s TV commercial running nationwide here in the USA and I was almost embarrassed to tell people because the following question usually is, “wow, how much did you get paid for that”?
It’s not like the track would cost a large amount to license even for broadcast(it should), why wouldn’t they just pay $17 and get the real deal. Weird.
Wow, that’s pretty blatant. Nice catch.
Good to know, thanks for the heads up. I have some free credits for Facebook advertising to use but looks like a waste of time.
Yeah, it is really messed up, they actually had it pretty good lately. It may be temporary as it seems the only thing it’s giving weight to in the search results is purely just the title of track.
Hope it goes back because the last search algorithm was pretty fair giving new tracks chances to compete and rewarding those with good steady sales.
They think it helps the SEO for websites they try to boost in search rankings by leaving links in tons of forums. Google used to put a lot of weight on how many back links a site had and the type of site the back link it was left on.
