Personally, I’m disappointed with Tunesat. It finds too little web uses and TV uses seem to be made up. For example, it detected my track in various TV series like:
American Dad Merlot Down Dirty Shame (#5AJN08)
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia The Gang Gets Held Hostage (#YBP309)
The King of Queens Road Rayge (#107)
I wasted my time watching those episodes, but the allegedly detected track was not there.
Well at least you didn’t have to sit through a Jerry Springer episode called “Tranny Takedowns” to find out tunesat was wrong like I did.
Done with them, for now anyways.
This is from their F.A.Q. Seems if they provide a legit license for use they can get rid of the ads, but by the time they figure out why they are having ads, tracking down ad company, and providing license they will most likely be pretty upset.
“Can the person who used my music in his or her video stop us from allowing YouTube to place ads on it? If a user has not properly licensed your material, they have two options- allow ads to run, or have their video taken down and receive a copyright strike on their channel.”
No, it happens to everyone who uses your music. Even if people run ads for monetization their ads will be replaced with your ads. So in my opinion, if you’re in the stock music business, AdRev is not the best option for you.
+1 This is instantly what I was thinking, if it puts forced ads on people’s videos without them wanting it, it could Creat quite the mess. You should really find out, would be interesting to know. Thanks though for the heads up on something like this in any case.
That was Fast! Congrats and well done sir!
I remember being asked to help contribute to that program by a certain other stock music site and I said, No thank you that sounds real bad for business, I think you made a small percentage off the advertising income.
Sad thing is some authors actually must have agreed to it.
Nothings free, if you use that music your youtube video will be smothered with forced youtube advertising making it unwatchable.
Anyone who seriously makes movies or youtube videos would not want that.
+1 Awesome, thanks
The channel owner was even nice enough to leave a link to buy your music, you should be thanking him.
Cool song by the way, by looking at the comments your song might be stealing the show.
Wow, thats really awesome, Thanks.
Surprised though the (Small) amount of authors that didn’t bother to put an actual link, even one who wrote “contact me for info on music used”(What can that be about?, would’t it just be easier to add a link?.
