I would advice exporting your video from MOV (if that’s what you have) to H264 using Sorenson Squeeze. Play with the settings and you can significantly lower the size while maintaining pretty high quality of the video.

If you’d like text from XML file to be in Russian, open Fla file and import font that supports Russian language.

All files here go with a Help documentation which is required if an author uploads file for selling here.

Here are some clarification to your questions (please note, these are how things generally work in Flash and you may be on a safer side to ask the author if you have any specific to template questions):

First of all, I want to know, how you install flash template. Just put “file” in public_htm directory?

You need to place swf file and all other files that are needed for its deployment in your public_html or root folder on your server (if you’d like the website to be accessible at www.yourdomainname.com)

Then… lets assume that after that site is on in template view. How are pictures added to gallery? Is there an admin section, where we can upload them?

When the template is XML driven, you simply open XML settings file in Notepad, Dreamweaver or any other favourite software program and specify URLs to your images’ location at your server. Upload XML and images at specified folder and that’s it.

How you make new page of let’s say portfolio?

Usually authors would provide you with a full description on how to do that in their help file. As I do this for my templates, you open main XML settings file, add another node (tag) of page you’d like to add, customize its name and its XML settings file.

Is there any tutorial somewhere online where I can see procedure?

Here’s an ActiveDen tutorial explaining XML editing in details: http://blog.activeden.net/resources/common-questions-by-flashden-buyers/common-questions-xml-explained/

Here’s a whole bunch of them answering common questions: http://blog.activeden.net/category/resources/common-questions-by-flashden-buyers/

How we change the look of template? if on info it is written flas cs4, does that mean, that we import template file to flash cs4 and than edid it and after that again upload to public_htm?

If Flash file is XML driven, that means a lot of the properties (width, height, colors, x, y) are all editable via XML . You might not even need to have Flash installed. However, its best to look through the file’s description to see if the settings you’d like to change are available through editing XML . Ask an author :)

Hope someone will take a few minutes and answer me. I don’t wanna buy it first and than realize that it is too complicated. So far I only worked with wordpress templates so flash is my “fear”. thanks

Flash is nothing to be afraid of :) Besides, there’s a whole lot of people here, on forums, most available 24/7 :) who won’t mind to lend a helping hand. Just ask :)

Hope this will waive some of your fears away and Flash will gain another friend in your face :)

+1 Updates usually come with a great bunch of new features and sometimes important bugs fixed. That’d be great if an author could somehow indicate to buyers that they have an update of the file purchased.

Ideas: – show an indication on buyer’s AD home page, if there’s any update available
- send automatic message to the buyers when an update is up. This might prevent the spamming and privacy issues between the buyer and author.
