StudioEtude saidYes it is the truth, I know… but that’s why the quality should be higher: To give them no chance to buy such crap
PaBlikMM saidI work with some TV channels, and there is the same story … Buyers are not musicians and the criteria they use, gives me a sense of fear and embarrassment …
The question is also who are the byers and if they really care about composittion and mixing/sound quality. One example from my personal experience …
I work in Multimedia department in a worldwide localization company. I use music for some corporate presentations or e-learning videos we localize for our clients etc. – but i dont have any control about what music we buy for this videos. It comes from our marketing department – there is sitting a really nice girl with some budget and byu the music. She is not a musician and i talked to her many times trying to give her some advices to pick and buy a really good quality music – BUT – for ex. she wants for the clients piano songs, ukulele songs, clapping songs ... she really dont care if the piano song was created using some cheap GM MIDI bank or 400GB sound library – she wants to hear piano, UKE, clapping …
Its sad but some (IMO most of) of the buyers are not musicians (or just simply dont have the experience to recognize A quality from AAA+ quality song)- if they would – the will probably write the songs by themselves
LOL
Thats just one of my personal experience – but i can be wrong and it all works different
