Ahh if you only included bikes :D 800-1000km/week :D

We should make an unofficial envato cycling challenge at the summertime, I would love to participate in. :)

So, guys and girls could someone explain to me, the actual challenge will start on Jan 16th? In case, what about the challenge that has started today?
That is correct, official challenge starts on the 16th Melbourne time, as Joffer posted/updated this thread. The current challenge was meant as a trial, and as you can’t cancel it, we’ll simply have to ignore it and take only the new one into account.

Thank you! Then I’m going to take a rest. I’ve ran already 30+km in the past two days. :D

Btw, a question for the most advanced runners here, how’s better to improve the distance one can run? Running as much as possible, with pauses(fast walking when I can’t run anymore) or to just run as much as I can, without walking? And, how many times do you run a week?

I’m not a pro runner, but one of the things I wish I’d done from the start was finding my running form. I started off with heel striking and this worked for a while until I couldn’t run anymore. I ended up injuring my knee. I thought it was a problem with my shoes and got new ones, still felt the injury and couldn’t run :P

This went on for a while, during which I’d walk instead of run. I later changed my form to forefoot running. This wasn’t easy at all to adapt to but I have not had any issues since other than initially breaking my toe nails (surprisingly didn’t hurt and I noticed this by accident :D ), my toes would swell sometimes and get blistered etc. All good now ^^

I discovered that when heel striking, i.e. landing on my heels, I’d take all the impact in my knee. This does not happen when I land on my forefoot, I feel the impact in my calf muscle. So my advice for you is to find your running form. If your feeling injury in your knee, hips etc, look into your form. Good luck!

Edit: forgot to add, don’t listen to music when running! It’s a huge distraction and I fell into a ditch fracturing 4 fingers! Lesson learned :P

I can’t run a single mile without music. :D

I’m newbie comparing to most of the runners here, haha :D I’m exhauster after almost 3 miles and I tried extremely hard. I’m just beginning to run(ran a few times at the end of the year and now it’s the first time after like 2 years).

Always try to run slower just don’t stop, the most important thing when you run (in my opinion) to have constant pace.

I usually run 7 times a week, so every single day, just keep up and good luck! :)

Day1 : Just completed a 22km run. It was pretty foggy as I started, but cleared up by the time I got back :D

I didn’t run too fast. Maintained a 6minute/km pace on average. I’m using an ipod for these runs because that’s the only device I have that supports nike+ at the moment.

I normally use a garmin forerunner to keep track of my runs, which I later upload to runkeeper. Now I’m syncing two devices and maintaining two accounts which isn’t as bad as it sounds. I’m actually liking nike+ and finally finding practical use for my ipod :P

Pics taken on ipod. I live on the outskirts of a small town in north Italy. I made it to town and cut through the center and went around it, making my way back home. I alternate routes to keep it interesting so probably have more pics tomorrow as well.

Then, made it to town, cut through the center

And finally the way back home

I’d actually taken around 60 pics but they all turned out rubbish. I am getting a hang of this though and will probably be a better camera man next time!

God, congratulations, you just motivate me to run tomorrow 25km :D the place where you run is just so beautiful! Keep it up, my friend! :)

You bet you can :D
:D works unexpectedly well with treadmill using device accelerometer, a 5km walk with 5km/hr and some minutes of run with 8km/hr resulted in this:
i think ThematiCSS will run instead of us all … i’m out :D

I’ll run every single day from Jan 13 to February 13, so I hope it will be enough to win this competition for the community! :P And do not quit, you’re doing so well just keep it up. :)
