Looks like they initiated all swift payments by 13th itself but as my intermediary bank located in US, that makes delay.

I welcome it with open arms, as i am already providing support, so all I am seeing is added benefits and nothing is being subtracted from me, why would I be against it? Bring it on Envato
This is like “since I give free gift for my buyers, having a new rule to make it mandatory is fine”.
Wait.. Mandatory support is something related to “Giving Guarantee” and “Raising Dependency” to the buyers. More of an advertisement and not a feature / luxury. Before mandatory support policy, you are doing it voluntarily. After making it mandatory, it will be your commitment. If this is a single door shop, then it is ok. But as a marketplace / platform having individual authors how the system will differentiate the quality of support between author A and author B? What benefit the buyer and author get because of just giving guarantee?
We already noticed complaints from buyers regarding some authors advertising about support abilities in item description but fails to meet the same. Now the system going to do the same thing.
In real life I don’t have the habit of committing on things which are vague and or atleast avoid giving guarantee. Same applies to the profession too.
- Eliminate the “author fee” and put the entire fee on the buyer. And stick this information in fine print in the TOS where it belongs. Then buyers won’t care about paying a “30% fee” unless they actually read the TOS (and they won’t).
- Allow authors to include a legal liability disclaimer in their items (another basic right of any “seller”).
+1 for both these. But the problem is author fee is variable (Not a static 30%). Combining it with buyer fee will be crazy.

It’s better than not managing them at all.
This level of support is mandatory – since certain aspects are very similar to changing the marketplace policy overnight with intentionally convincing wordings to keep us silent.
I guess Envato unnecessarily lost trust with the mandatory support announcement – which strongly added negative point of views towards every decision they make later and today.
^ In theory, there is no reason for changes on DMCA process due to the current changes. But since we aware this place rapidly becoming a rabbit hole, we better ask all kind of questions priorly.
I had asked about a disclaimer earlier, but didn’t see an answer yet. Is this still something you’re looking into to?
Honestly I’m a bit surprised more authors haven’t spoken up about this. Because now that our names are on the invoices, without any type of usage disclaimer, we’re all incredibly vulnerable now.
I realize leaving this up to authors could make things tricky. So it probably makes sense to just add a generic disclaimer in some fine print, and force the buyer to click “I Agree” before they’re able to complete their purchase.If possible, please let us know an ETA on an answer for this. To me, it’s such an important issue that I really wish I could soft-disable my items until we get an answer on this. Because I feel really uncomfortably selling here without any type of basic legal protection.
Sorry for my ignorance if any but this creates another question. If a seller infringes copyright, should we send DMCA take down notice to Envato or the seller? In these situations how deep the marketplace/platform involve from now? Any changes on hosting responsibilities?
Guys I just spent some time chatting on Skype with Collis… what an awesome guy I was positively shocked and surprised when I got the call (in a good way ).
He explained some stuff to me, and all have to tell you… why not commission system… well trust me we do not want it!
About VAT, it is not a biggy, the statement that Envato is taking care of it (he basically answered all my questions) is quite enough now for me, calmed me down totally.
