Sometimes the stubbornness of system admins can be quite annoying.

The system admins wont be very happy when they cant access google, will they? So they’ll HAVE to upgrade…

@Reaper-Media, yes i know that, that’s what brought this thought to my mind :)

Try telling that to the IT Department of large corporations that have to implement and schedule system wide upgrades. You might want to duck for that one.

Well , I could be paid to entertain you guys , maybe TF have a budget for this ? :P

The question is, do you charge $27, $32 or $37 for the entertainment?

Thanks, I am a little confused by the use of main? sorry.

I am looking at ways of customising the loop so it just displays the images that are in the posts in category 7.

Still working on it.

Here’s a regular homepage that displays all images in the tutorial category. I took a post page, named it as a page template and added a query before the loop to display all posts in the tutorial category and added a wp_reset_query after the loop.

<?php if (is_page('7') ) {//articles
 query_posts('cat=4&showposts=9');
} elseif ( is_page('9') ) {//freebies
query_posts('cat=5&showposts=9');
} elseif ( is_page('356') ) {//inspiration
query_posts('cat=30&showposts=9');
} elseif ( is_page('10') ) {//tutorials
query_posts('cat=6&showposts=9');
} else {
$cat = '';
}
?>

I thought the purpose of the loop was to display posts, on archive pages, home pages, category pages and single pages. If you look at an archive page or a category page, they are pretty much the same with the exception of queries to get specific titles based on content.

So why not just modify an archive, search, post, category page, strip out the post gobbledy-gook (that’s a technical term) and leave the image code?

So I’ve tried to upload an update to my theme four times, after I get the large list of changes I made typed out and click submit, I get a page not found error.

It worked once and apparently the reviewer said there were no files uploaded.

What’s the deal?

Couldn’t you just create an archive page or regular page and strip out all the meta info and leave the image code? This is of course using the the custom field named main for the image.

<?php if (have_posts()) : while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>

<div id="post-<?php the_ID(); ?>">

<?php $image = get_post_meta($post?>ID, 'main', true); ?>
        <a href="<?php the_permalink() ?>" title="Read <?php the_title(); ?>"><img src="<?php echo $image; ?>" alt="<?php the_title(); ?>" /></a>

</div>

<?php endwhile; ?>

Nothing found

<?php endif; ?>

I usually have it setup so that the posts when added are in a category (featured) and the slider displays those posts only. Give me a couple of days to put together a tutorial and I’ll try to make the download files easy to drop in and use.

If you’re going to use CSS3 , the biggest thing is to make sure it degrades gracefully. Basically if you’re using -moz-border-radius and don’t set border-radius for when the browser specific hacks aren’t supported anymore, you’ve got a problem.

Just make sure it looks roughly the same, it doesn’t have to be mirror image in every browser.

-moz-border-radius:5px;
-webkit-border-radius:5px
-khtml-border-radius:5px;
border-radius:5px;
