Now one user is asking me for the updated version of the script and provided me with his purchase code
Although this purchase code was validating ( according to my records) it is no more validating and also checking the user profile page it now gives not found
what does this mean ?. Should I send the author the update?
- You can use this tools :
I used the first one it’s working good.
- FreshKiller – Let’s group together and give them hell !!!
- DMCA Sender – free plugin helping you protect your products
But i can’t understand how the second one working.
Thanks for the advice. FreshKiller seems promising but unfortunately I’m not a Windows user.
DMCA Sender seems to work well but it lacks some features like logging and better user interaction but at all it gets the job done.
Not so difficult: add your Envato items through the interface, setup your data and then add links.I quote also Firsh about Google SERP
The plugin will send DMCA, of course is not possible to check them automatically, but is a good way to keep trace of already reported links and check progresses
I have tried and it works in sending DMCAs. but I found no log to check what was sent to where. or list of hosts emails. but I received replies from hosts that they removed some files and found the hosts list among the plugin files.
Thanks for the awesome plugin
I have a feeling they submit your files and then send you their own link saying “look what we just found”. If you show any interest, they’ll keep doing it, just so they have “something to remove”. You can battle the organic results if you wish. There are some sites that don’t comply to DMCA. The best would be to file DMCA directly to Google with Chilling Effects, though you need a company if you don’t wish to publish your personal information (notices to Google are public).
Every now and then, I get quotes via email from guys that promise to keep removing violating links by sending DMCA daily to found links
Have you ever tried any kind of this service? what do you suggest?
I’m lazy in these kind of jobs to do myself
January was prosperous for lot’s of authors here (including me). it was generous with 31 days. let’s welcome February the lowest month in days count wishing all of you more sales than ever before
Some days ago, I have noticed by chance that there is a PHP script listed at CodeCanyon that is very similar in functionality to one of my wordpress plugins.
I have suspected that this script may have used some of my code as the script behaviour was too close
I have downloaded the item and viewed the code and found that the user copied/pasted lot’s of my code and adapted to his script
I rushed to send a DMCA notice to Envato and they put the file down. days after I got a notification from Envato again that they will get the file back as they received a DMCA counter notice where the author swear he didn’t copy/use my code
I provided a very simple screenshot that I expect it may clearly shows that code was copied, but Envato told me they are still obliged to return the file back and I must hire a lawer and take official measurements
Here is the screenshot I have sent
Do you think that the code was copied? or am I blind?.
this is not the only copied code but just a shot
one funny thing that the user didn’t remove the code to strip shortcodes. his script is not a wordpress plugin and so he don’t need to strip shortcodes. is not that an evidence
If this user has asked me to use the code, I won’t mind but I’m really disappointed to see my work stolen and used in CC itself
I have fight various violations outside Envato but I didn’t expect this case.
Have you ever meet this case before with one of your items? should I accept the case? I will not definitely hire a lawyer for such a case.
Envato support removed the rating.
I hope in the near future we can reply to reviews and report unfair ones.
