ChapterThemes saidDid you read previous posts of this thread? I guess not. By “special deal” he means permission from plugin author for buying e.g Extended License or a few times Regular License per 1 item on ThemeForest or a nice smile. Just agreements between authors but without profits outside Envato.
LanceSnider saidThat shouldn’t be fine if the author is selling the same item as an exclusive author.
Our licenses don’t allow that. Meaning, you can’t purchase OUR licenses and use them that way. If you make a special deal with the author, that’s fine.
I’m sure you’ll say that “nice smile” is a profit outside Envato, but don’t overdo.
@PrimeThemes – I would suggest to read whole thread and you’ll get the answer. It was mentioned thousand times.
That’s right. If I’d be an CodeCanyon author I’d give written permission to use my plugin in theme for buying e.g. 5 times regular license of my item.
Instead of buying 5 times regular license someone else could give written permission for nice smile. There’s nothing against Envato rules because it’s still private agreement between authors and Collis said that’s allowed.
djwd saidIt’s still exclusive selling, because you buy his licenses on Envato’s marketplace. I don’t get you.
Yeah but then we go back to the exclusive non-exclusive author thing. If what you say it’s allowed then it would mean I could also sell my themes with a per-person license outside TF too? It’s chaos.
I’m working on a new theme since two months, yesterday I was going to buy and extended license for a slider I wanted to include in it, I postponed this by one day and now I cannot do this anymore. On the other hand, who did it, will have an ‘unfair’ advantage when it will be the time to release the themes. (Not to consider themes already on the marketplace with tons of premium plug-ins included.)
Contact with that slider’s author. I’m sure that he’ll give permission if you will buy whatsoever license (it doesn’t matter if it would be Extended License or, let’s say, 5 times Regular License). You buy 5 times his slider, he allows you to use it – clear business partnership.
Well, it’s quite nice. Personally (without mentioning things you mentioned, that can be improved) I don’t like footer. I’d add more padding between left and right side of wrapper, headlines doesn’t really fit to the rest of layout, social icons and “back to top” button too. Also copyrights section in footer could be less contrasting. It’s just my opinion.
