Anything on CBS. Recently started watching NCIS… awesome series. #1 drama with most viewers, they’re in season 12 now.

I wouldn’t say Myspace is dead… the Newscorps version of Myspace is dead.

They just re-launched with a new platform solely focused on Music, an iOS app, and a Music Streaming service. They also just had a big re-launch concert and are spending 20+ million dollars on advertising.

I think new Myspace is going to catch on. There’s no other place out there that allows artists to share their music, mixes, upcoming events, photos, and social media in one place. Facebook, Soundcloud, Twitter all do just one or two of the things I listed.

Anyone else here using iOS 7 notice Apple got rid of the ability to rate songs…

Keep in mind, iOS 7 is far from done… which is why they don’t have a release date yet like they usually do. They are probably going to redo a lot of the icons/graphics… using iOS7 it feels like they ran out of time for the keynote and just put everything together in a hurry. Even Al Gore seemed surprised that they unveiled iOS 7 yesterday with it not being done and he sits on the board of directors.

Having been using iOS 7, overall there’s some cool features:
- Can search iPhone anywhere, just pull down the screen and the search bar pops out.
- Although it looks like crap, the control panel is very useful, love the flashlight button
- The multitasking bar is awesome.
- Improved Photos app, it’ll sort them correctly even if you have geo-tagging turned off.
- A new feature (at least haven’t seen it before) that sends you both Amber & Government Emergency alerts
- Near me feature in App store… shows you the most popular apps used by people near your current location
- Siri shows you a list of things you can ask for quick reference
- Like the new mail app, although looks very similar to the Mailbox App… (http://www.mailboxapp.com/)

Some issues with iOS7:
- Extremely slow at times
- iPhone overheats (using iPhone 4s)
- Annoyingly prompts you to enter all your mail/social media passwords at the same time
- Contacts app is completely messed upped
- Siri is a bit slow and is hard to find… have to hold down the home button for a few seconds for it to pop upp

Although I like iOS 7 overall, I disklike the fact that many of Apple’s new “innovative” apps & features have features stolen from other apps. Some articles pointing that out:

It’s all done externally now… if you want to expand beyond the base (like extra hdds) you need to hook it up via thunderbolt 2.

You say hook “it” up. What is that “it”? Another expensive NAS box, premium priced Thunderbolt (2!?) HDD dock? I can now plug 5 drives into the old Mac Pro, it’s simple and free*.

You also said “if you want to expand”. The new MP case is really small, I don’t think there is anything more than one or two Flash SSDs inside, certainly not some HDD. So in this case every Mac Pro user will want to expand.

Speaking about size, I have no idea how GPUs will be expandable. That was probably the #1 problem for old Mac Pros. That thing looks like a Power Mac G4 Cube with non-standard hardware expandability like in MBP and iMac. They said there are 2 GPUs, but I am afraid they are wired to the board. I am still just speculating (lack of info), maybe Apple will surprise us after all.

Checked… RAM & Flash storage is removable (expandable). Additional HDDs have to be hooked up externally. GPUs can’t be replaced, although most people should be fine with the 6gb vram. You can always also get the current models, will probably see a price drop.

Where are you watching it? Apple site says “Available shortly”...
You need to use the Safari browser :D

Running iOS 7 :D

Seriously now, love the new design and features, can’t wait for it.

One of the features mentioned: Appstore will now update your apps automatically (so you don’t see those annoying notification bubbles all the time). I really hope there will be an option to turn that off, as I would hate it if it did that for me.

Why would you hate auto-update? 99% of the app updates are stable.

Great keynote by the way. Really excited about the new Mac Pro and iOS7. Just a little puzzled about the uncertain expandability of Mac Pro and icon design on iOS7 home screen.

And is it just me or I noticed since I first saw iOS7 a while ago it looked really familiar… and today when watching the keynote it dawned on me… it looks very close to android running on samsung devices lol

Also feel bad for a lot of developers, Apple killed a lot of apps today lol… 1Password, Totalfinder, Camer+, Flashlight Apps, Mailbox app (non-Apple version in app store), etc.
