Well… I still think that the bitfade’s idea with a thumb up/down system can help a lot the staff to detect “problematic” files.
Every user on this site with a least one file or a purchase could help by simply clicking UP or DOWN on a file if he think that file needs that. This will show right away the files that are appreciated or not by the community. The result should be visible only to staff and by file owner – with anonymous votes.
The system can be implemented at first only to see the results.

Most AS3 files don’t even harness the new features AS3 , and can be built in AS2 … it’s only a better solution if it is doing something different that AS2 can’t… the only point of argument is that its a better coding language and it runs slightly faster.. but the end result is almost identical most of the time.
This is true but there is another issue to consider: If the AS2 -AS3 transition takes much longer period of time, one of the real losers are stock file authors (due to splited-unpredictable sales). Of course we can’t force AS3 while some buyers expects AS2 files but at the same time the authors shouldn’t become a reason for slow AS2 -AS3 transition to happen (inside stock site). So giving more priorities for AS3 files is very much needed and still it can’t harm AS2 buyers (after 4 years!) as what they wanted are already created / available! :D

That’s true, but it’s also quite a sad reason of course. The reason that the transition to AS3 is hard for me is because I’m not planning to build anything different with AS3 in comparison with what I intended to do with AS2 . Therefore, it feels like I’m good at drawing with my right hand but I have to learn drawing the same stuff with my left hand just because the market wants it that way!

Just go to the popular page and edit the url for months past.

Judging by this past week’s stats to last year’s I don’t think things have changed too much.

I think one possibility is that many of the heavy hitters are having a dip in sales, while some one else is probably having the best month of their AD career.
Good times ;-)!
Those were good times for you. Multiple items on the pop page. It’s gotta feel good that a year ago your were on there and a year later you still have items showing up.

True! Though I hope my new template will also make it there in about 4 weeks :-)!

Shouldn’t you guys be making files instead of arguing ;)? I bet revenues from those files will then cover the loss in revenues due to unfair pricing competition ;)!
