It’s been a while since i last uploaded an item to the marketplace, and i came back to the demise of the progress bar i weeped and went hysterical (not actually, but in a different universe this might be the case) however, i’m past this emotional state now and i just miss it and want it back… Why? because simply it was good UX and usability.
The removal of this valuable feature voids a major usability heuristic of which was set by the father of usability, Jakob Nielsen.
Visibility of system status: The system should always keep users informed about what is going on, through appropriate feedback within reasonable time.http://www.nngroup.com/articles/ten-usability-heuristics/
And i didn’t find a convincing answer to why removing it is good for the marketplaces.
I’d appreciate good feedback, and the topic is open for discussion.

I always cheer for change, but from the first glimpse at the design, it didn’t feel sturdy! it felt like the components of the page are scattered and failed to show strong correlation with other components within the page.
Just my two cents.
And i appreciate your good efforts in this visual refresh
The view is surreal! thanks for sharing this (Y)
Ramadan Mubarak everyone
Choosing between both solely depends on your design idea and intended field/category/audience. e.g. it’s a common practice for fashion designers to choose serif typography over sans because of it’s commonalty among fashion designers + that it looks neat, fashion wise, and in the other hand a company website that practices real estates business prefers using sans-serif for almost the same reason and so on…
Be careful when making your choice as typography significantly impacts your design.
