@adriantry Where is our envato notes?
Great question, WebAboard. It just went live, and you’ll find it right here:
To bring this monster thread to a close, here’s an outline of everything we’ve done since the bug was identified.
1. We identified the affected files.
Once the original bug was fixed we were able to write a query that identified all ~920 affected items. None of those items ever hit the front page.
2. We built a landing page.
We want to make up for that lost exposure, and there’s really no neat of fair way to put all of those files on the front page. Instead, we’re running a special “party theme” marketing campaign, perfect for this time of year.
So we built a landing page that includes every affected file. We’ll run the page for 30 days.
We want to ensure each item has the chance for exposure near the top of the page, so each day we take about 30 items off the top of the list and move them to the bottom.
3. We’re promoting the collection in our email newsletters.
The collection is being promoted in two December newsletters. It appeared in this week’s “Inspirations” edition, and will get a big mention in our regular newsletter next week. Those newsletters have huge audiences.
4. And finally, we’ll promote the collection socially.
I personally linked to the collection on the AudioJungle Facebook page yesterday, and I notice we’ve already mentioned it on the PhotoDune and VideoHive pages. A post on the GraphicRiver FB page is planned in the next few days.
A huge thank you for helping us identify the bug, and for hanging in there. We appreciate you!
By the end of 2013 there will be more mobile devices than people! We’re almost there.
With so many devices, how is the implementation? What was your most awesome mobile ecommerce experience this year?
We’ve just shared ours on Envato Notes. Feel free to check it out (and share it on social!). And if we’ve missed your favourite, we’d love you to let us know about it here or in the comments.
