in FF, the dropdowns show up on top of the stuff below, not sure why but obviously there is something different betwteen IE7 and FF. don’t dropdowns normally show on top of what they are dropping down over?

as well, in IE7 , the images at the bottom right of the page drop down, maybe you need “display: inline” on the float ( I asume that is what you are using, haven’t looked at the code).

innerfade is pretty easy to use. I use it on the St Thomas Curling Club website to fade in and out images of curlers on the home page. google search will reveal the details I used.

building your own plugin is an option if you know jQuery, otherwise not.

sounds like you need to go through the jquery for beginners series that Jeff Way has written on the TF blog. it is a good introduction series.

not sure if you are using a background image or not but CSS -Tricks just did an article on full page background images, take a look at that, perhaps that might be useful in using a background image to fit into a full screen regardless of size

no seams that way, but it does use tables!

that just brings up an interesting consideration,

I used IETester to test the page in IE6 , IE7 and IE8 and in all cases, the display showed the big black box oin the top left corner of the screen. I guess IETester is picking up information (cookies?) that is screwing up the display. once I did a refresh on my laptop IE7 , it worked ok.

what is it with the Net Tuts site?

the site is displaying incorrectly in IE6 , 7 and 8, the logo area at the top of the screen is compressed badly and is not working as it should. looks ok in FF3 , don’t these guys test it in IE browsers before they make changes?

would you translate this to UTC time?

I have no idea what times you are talking about.

Al

p.s. UTC = EDT + 4 hrs (Can/US)

Index to Net Tuts Articles (incomplete)

don’t have a web site to put this on so used google sites

“Alsmusings”.http://sites.google.com/site/alsmusings

maybe with the site redesign, this will be incorporated.
