No offence intended. :) It would be interesting to find out if we can all enter the contest with our previous work. I too have a couple scene generators that are being sold on different marketplaces… Lets wait and see what the staff has to say.

Thanks for being so positive about the Hero Image EMW. It’s an exciting launch and we’re psyched to see what you’ll bring to the table! As for the question about scene generators from other marketplaces: As long as an item is uploaded to the contest during the dates mentioned in the post, the item is eligible!

Cheers, Nick

Thanks Nick! :)

..........and I’m entered! Cheers and good luck everyone!

nice one, however I’m afraid your item is not eligible for the contest. It states that : “Only new items uploaded to Envato Market within the contest time period are eligible.”

I believe your food scene creator was made long before the contest and sold (and is still for sale) on another marketplace.

I know it’s a Thursday/Friday, but I’m at zero sales today so far. I sometimes wonder if Envato manually processes sales sometimes because I’ll go through long periods of 5-10 hours with no sales and then get a handful all at the same time or within a few hours.

This is the ususal pattern every day. Nothing new and nothing unexpected. USA (which is where the majority of my sales come from) goes to bed and the sales stop. When the East coast wakes up, the sales begin again. :D

I seriously doubt envato have developed some sort of super-smart setup where they regulate sales flow. It’s in their interest to sell, sell, sell, so I doubt they would mess with that. No offence! :)

I actually live on the US East Coast, so most of what I’m talking about has to do with long breaks during the day. Sometimes even during the day here, I’ll go 8 hours without a sale, and then all of the sudden I get 2 or 3 sales within an hour or so.

I’m not saying that Envato is withholding sales or anything, I’m just wondering if they don’t actually process sales until a certain time in the day sometimes.

Oh, I see what you mean now. Perhaps they are indeed processing only at certain times per day. Either that or the day/night thing.

(Note for the fellow staf: I thought adding this here would also make sense :))

Hi friends, please let us know your thoughts about the things I’ll mention below..:

Let’s assume that a buyer has choosen a TAG, or they just performed a SEARCH action. Each one of the results’ pages are full of same authors’ many items. For example, a choosen tag or a search returns 6-7 items of the SAME author in the very SAME page. What if we give chance to other authors’ items instead of listing 6-7 items of the same author in a search result?

IF author X already has more than Y number of items in the SAME result’s page {show other authors’ items instead of author X’s items}

I think this have a potential to justify the exposure a bit for each author here.
What do you think?
Does this approach would has its own drawbacks?
Please let me know your thoughts.

That doesn’t seem very fair. Let’s say an author is creating only wedding invitations. He doesn’t have any other items, just 50 different wedding invites – why would the system show only some of them? I think that’d be a discrimination to those authors who have chosen specific field to focus on.

I believe that’s a different issue djjeep. The items without preview images are neither deleted nor disabled. I can’t speak for everyone, but mine is active and well, apart from the missing preview image.

And it’s very new – just a few weeks old and selling ok, so it couldn’t be up for removal due to low sales or bad quality.

I also have the same problem. The preview image vanished a couple hours ago on one of my items. But I see it’s not just me – take a look at this: \\

you can see just the name of the item written in blue – where the image was suppose to be
