ah, i knew there was one more guy but forgot his name
I believe that’s ‘butters’! According to Collis’ interview, he’s the first community member ever.
The original post was not specific about weekly popular page but other exposures happening for same top sellers. Those exposures are neither marketplace/category/relevance based, nor helpful to the buyers; it plainly promotes item based on sales number. This is like making it hard to compete with top sellers. The complaint is genuine.Everyone aware about the fact that good items sell better. But what about measurements? how we measure exposure? When the number of items are reaching 10000s, promoting only a dozen top sellers without relevance isn’t healthy. The complaint is not about items but the system.
Well, I’m not arguing with any of what you’re saying regarding the irrelevance of items being advertised on the download page. That is indeed weird and should be fixed. I was replying to the whining about popular page items and how they stay on top because they’re there.
Interesting, if you check the most popular page… poor get poorer rich get richer… well this is just how the world works and in mirrors on this marketplace also And btw can anyone tell me what did i post wrong in my last post lol
Oh Cm’on!! This is just ridiculous! I’ve also been keeping my eye on the ‘popular’ page (Graphicriver) and I see that there are new and new items getting there every week!! It’s not like it’s impossible! We just have to work very hard and create awesome designs! Then they will get all the sales and the attention they deserve!
You can’t always blame the marketplace for not advertising ALL of the items poor to mediocre to good! If the item is excelent, you have nothing to worry about!
Better spend this time working on your designs or take a well earned break and go to the beach and forget about all this for a day. It’s summer guys!
As long as the items are very good they do the advertising for themselves. They can get into various ‘tops’ here on this site and/or many other users/authors pick them to put into their affiliate program etc. It’s always best to advertise your items on different social sites as well, but the most important is to create quality items – that’s what you should think about prior anything else.
P.s. Also you should choose your category wisely, many such as business cards or flyers or logos are oversaturated and it’s even harder to stand out.
Yes, this is an interesting topic. Apart from the great sites mentioned by Elicabe, what else is out there? Also – do many of you have their own personal webpage/blog where you advertise your own items? Does it work? Any advice is welcome! Thanks.
Why have you deformed each and every text? This is a big no-no! Also you overall design looks outdated. The colors and the gradients make it look very 90’s.
I’d suggest you spend some time looking at what other authors are doing, learn about proper typography and stay away from tacky metallic gradients unless you learn how and when to use them to your advantage.
