Maybe it’s my imagination, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen the Envato sites load so fast. I wrote a comment in the forums just the other day asking whether there was some load issue with the servers as Videohive is about the slowest website I visit and often seizes up altogether. This is great…..

Do keep in mind though, that at any one time there’s probably around 20,000+ users browsing the sites (Members, Visitors, Spiders, etc). So that is a huge amount of traffic to deal with.

The sites load within a reasonable limit for a large network anyway.

Hi Guys,

I’m in the market for a portfolio/blog theme for my site, At the moment I’m fairly busy with work and other commitments to create one myself.

I’ve seen a number of themes on here, but just cannot make up my mind as to which one.

I was thinking “To The Bat Mobile!”, but maybe that’s not the right path :P But in all seriousness, I would love if some here would be able to provide some (non-biased) advice as to the nicest visually appealing portfolio and blog WordPress theme.

I understand if people wouldn’t want to post their replies on the forums, and that is fine, if so feel utmost free to send me an email via my den page.

Once again, Thanks for the tips/advice in advance.

If anything, I think a unique well developed theme. For example the Wiki or Real Estate WP themes are quite unique.

The current Portfolio/Business styles are well over saturated, so If you could come up with an idea for a unique WP theme, then you might be rolling in some dough!

Another reason it may of not worked is because your friend cleared his cookies, or has them disabled. As the referral system works on cookies being created.

The refered person has to create an account or you don’t get a badge.
Of course, he did..

Though keep in mind, if you used your own referral link to create another account it won’t work either.

But, Why don’t you email support, they may be able to help you better…

How does that whole www thing work? How does it disrupt or ‘pollute’ search engine results? Someone please explain, I never understood this concept :O

Search Engines regard www.yoursite.com and yoursite.com as two sites. Therefore generating duplicate content and penalization.

Hi All,

I’m contemplating upgrading from CS3 to CS4 . This is for Web Premium (Plus InDesign, Premiere Pro, Encore & After Effects)

The apps I use in the Creative Suite most often are:
  • Photoshop
  • Fireworks
  • Dreamweaver
  • Flash
  • Soundbooth
  • InDesign
  • Premiere Pro
  • Encore
  • After Effects
  • Acrobat
  • Illustrator

I’d appreciate feedback on the upgrade and new features (if any) in any of the apps listed above in CS4 compared to CS3 .

If i’m designing I’ll use any of the following: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or Fireworks. Each i use for different things, Photoshop/Fireworks i often use for pixel based work such as logos, characters, web mockups, etc. At other times I’ll use Illustrator for vector work, which may include logos, characters, the occasional web mock up, 3D, etc.

Inspiration for me is gained through spending a few hours outdoors roaming around with my camera and getting creative photography. I find it’s a great way to build up my photography skills and also get inspiration.

I’m not a Mac user (Not yet anyway :P), nor a Linux user, and not even a Chrome OS (A Bit early yet though..). You might be able to guess by now, Windows, and in particular Windows XP as i still find it the most stable Windows OS platform to date. I’ve got a Dell, with an Intel 3.0ghz CPU , 3GB Ram, nVidia Graphics Card (Can’t remember which one exactly off the top of my head), with a hefty about of hard drive space (both internal and external) and I’ve just upgraded from a 15” Monitor to a beautiful 22” Widescreen HD LCD Monitor.

When it comes to graphic design, I do like to take my time, and make sure it’s done as good as it can. As graphic design isn’t my main area of skill, It isn’t as great as some of the other designers here but it works for me.

Usually I Pretty much Always have Fireworks and/or Photoshop open when I’m doing work…

Anyway, That’s just a little bit about me, I’d love to hear about everyone else :)
