I don’t have any proof, I just did the customization in order for the plugin to be different from the marketplace one and to protect myself.
I’ve been doing client work for 12 years and I know some of them might try to take advantage from various circumstances.
A while ago, I have customized a couple of plugins from my portfolio and sold them to a client via PayPal. This client is a CodeCanyon user and now he wants me to provide updates to those plugins.
As the purchase was not from another marketplace or not from my site, but non-public via email, he has no grounds in what he tries to accomplish. He wants to contact Envato and claim I broke the rules by selling him the customized plugins.
What do you think? Should I report him to Envato?
Just added my recently updated Clicker Counter to “Best Marketing SEO Plugin or Code” category:http://codecanyon.net/item/clicker-counter/7125206
@ShaneFreer, I must have misinterpreted the original post. I remember reading something like this but I cannot track it down now.
I’m a bit confused, so can I enter an existing script I’ve made for this just by putting the tag ‘Marketting’ in? Or do I reupload it all?
I’m not sure how much updated scripts weigh, but the original post said you only need to update your script and add the “marketing” tag. That is all. No need to reupload it, unless you added something new.
OK, thank you.
I’ll keep working on it.
