we’ve the same issue; on our server all works great, but the review team send us some screen with php notices and a break layout
Someone has some advice?
If there’s PHP notices that’s a bit different. I wasn’t getting any notices or errors nor were they.
Double check you have debug mode turned on (Im sure you probably do) and I would suggest installing the developer plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/developer/ That will install all the essential developer tools you need (that the review team uses as well) – then check the debug bar on that page.
Are you running the latest versions of PHP and MYSQL? If that doesn’t yield any results upgrade to the latest versions of both.
IMO, the best way to replicate this issue would be to ask reviewer about their LAMP/LEMP environment configuration and apply it on your server and then re-test the theme.
I didn’t think to ask that actually – though they’re not very forthcoming, I’ve been polite and asked questions but they don’t respond to them. I was able to see the version of MYSQL and PHP he was using from the video and replicated those but still couldn’t get it to break or find an error.
I’ve had a few other people try now and no one has been able to replicate it. I’ve since resubmitted, I changed a couple of things in hopes it makes a difference, but can’t really figure it out, would love to get a different reviewer to look at it. If it gets rejected again I might have to delete and resubmit in hopes of getting a different reviewer.
I recommend you enable WP_DEBUG . You should see an error. As a general rule, it’s always best to keep the debugging activated during development.
More info on WP_DEBUG here : http://codex.wordpress.org/WP_DEBUGBest regards,
Yes… always. Also, running all those Debug plugins as mentioned above which give you a rundown on just about everything. I’m not getting any flags, errors or the like anywhere. Passed all the theme checks too and got a 100% score on themecheck.org.
I’d honestly love to see some sort of error so I could fix it and get it approved.
You are probably right, but then what is the purpose of ‘required’ key in TGM_Plugin_Activation (example from http://tgmpluginactivation.com/):
‘required’ => true, // If false, the plugin is only ‘recommended’ instead of required. After all, TGM was recommended by Envato: https://help.market.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/202822450-WordPress-Theme-Submission-Requirements.
Your theme should work at a basic level without any plugins. “Required” to recreate some functionality in the demo, but not dependant for the theme to work. Are you using said plugin in the index page or something? Try moving it to it’s own custom template page if that’s the case. Conditional code to check if the plugin is active: http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/is_plugin_active
1. Pages never load. http://envato.d.pr/1184J/25K5hRoN
I’m at a complete loss – this just doesn’t make any sense to me.
I can’t recreate this issue. http://youtu.be/rFoUEo7xwAA
I’ve tried 3 different machines (2 Macs 1 PC) different browsers(Chrome, Safari, Firefox) , different versions of PHP and MYSQL, and I’ve used fresh imports of the unit testing data each time.
My bigger problem is tho – it’s just a basic page like all the other pages in the unit testing data, if they’re all working why would this page not be for him?
I’ve installed the Debug Bar, Debug Bar Console, Debug Bar Cron, Debug Bar Extender, Developer, Theme Check, Monster Widget, Rewrite Rules Inspector and any other testing plugin to see if I could find any kind of error and to recreate his testing environment, but nothing.
Has anyone had any similar kind of troubles or got an idea of what could be going on?
Looking to get some feedback on the demo site of a WordPress Magazine theme I have just launched: http://tinyurl.com/q38w6wh
Specifically: - Do you prefer the horizontal menu or do you the hamburger menu at desktop resolutions? - Do you like the views counter? - Do you like the posts tiles sliding in as you scroll?
These are all theme options, but just wanting to see what other people like/think so I can improve the demo site.
...and if anyone has a nice gravatar feel free topost a nice comment on a post?
Yeah same here it’s been 5-6 days….any one got longer than 1 week or lucky enough get approved less than 5 days? We need a clarification from Staff here, is it true only Kailoon and Ivor work for all categories submission (heard from an author in other thread)? I can’t believe if that’s true. I can’t imagine how their work load. does not make any sense with how many new items submitted each day.
I’ve only had Ivor or Kailoon – everytime Ivor reviews it he reviews old files.
If there are only the two resources, that would be disgraceful considering the revenue ThemeForest makes.
It has taken me over a month. Compounded by the review team reviewing old files multiple times. I haven’t had a review all week. The 2 reviews before that were of old files. All in all it’s been over 2 weeks since I have had the latest files actually reviewed. I’m at the point of forgetting ThemeForest and selling on wordpress.com and my own site.
